Can Doomsday be brought in?

This has been asked before, especially referring to STAS. But this question needs to be addressed for a possible Justice League appearance. Can Doomsday be brought into the series without being the being who kills Superman but maybe fatally wounds him. I mean Bane was brought into BTAS but he didn't break his back and was defeated. In a way, I felt the BTAS team did this as a backlash against what they did to Batman in the comics. This was their vengeance against probably Denny O'Neil. But that's another story, can the killing of Superman by Doomsday be redeemed in Justice League and possibly the electric Superman?

If you think about it, it would be prefect intro for not only Doomsday and Brianiac, but Darkseid as well. This could be a three-parter season finale that begins on Apocalypse where Doomsday lays waste to everything and is quickly done away with into space and finds his way to earth. This time to do what its creator, Brainiac, originally intended for it to do, destroy Superman. Of course this time around it will fail.

I don't really thing that it would work. Doomsday's whole purpose in the comics was to kill Superman. The thing is that the only way to have Doomsday fail is to make him weaker. He isn't exactly intelligent, so what you end up with is just a big dumb guy who Superman defeats. Without the ability to kill Superman, he isn't that great of a character. Bane at least was intelligent so could be seen as a threat to Batman even if he couldn't kill Batman.

You could have it be the 1st time he confronts Supes. Remember that Doomesday was originally born to be the ultimate adaptive creature. You could have the JLA barely scrape by him in the 1st ep (oh what a great fight) and then in the 2nd ep he comes back mad as all heck to fight.

They missed their chance to bring in Doomsday during STAS. That's when it should have been done.

We pout when Superman's abilities are lessened in STAS/JL but this is a perfect window of oppertunity which can help rid us of that problem! Granted for fullest impact it might have to be yet another two parter, but this is a chance for Superman to have a GREAT story for Superman. I could see it now. Doomsday would be a physical threat to the Earth only Superman is strong enough to beat....and even HE can barely do it! Maybe a first fight second fight type of deal could hinder Clark's confidence after the first, leaving him with a lot of self doubt and reflection. Clark could realize he's taken his strength for granted, having only wanted to look after the Earth, meanwhile there's a lot more out there, so there's an even bigger responsibility to his planet AND universe.
