Summary
After the battle with Sasuke, Naruto seeks new strength. Kakashi descides to help him with Elemental justu. At the same time the temple of fire comes under attack. The Twelve Elite Guardians seek the power of young Sora, a monk with power similar to the Nine tails! They will use it to destroy the Leaf. Not if Naruto has anything to say about. Will Naruto learn his new jutsu? Who is Sora? Who are the Twelve Guardians? And what is Asuma's connection to them? Find out on Naruto Shippuden!

I'm currently reading the manga version of these episodes and I don't think he's smoking in them, so it might not be an edit, but I'm not sure. I think his cigarette was still in the opening...

The ending, if you want to know, is "Sunao na Niji" (which translates to Gentle Rainbow) by surface. It's an okay sad song IMO but nothing special.

Fun episode last night, I had to laugh when seeing Sai try to come up with nicknames for his comrades, I thought Sakura was going to just rip his head off inside of the resteraunt, lol. Even though the upcoming arc is basicly filler I am still looking forward to it since some filler is actually entertaining, I don't remember if there is a signifigant ammount of action involved in the upcoming arc or not.

I'm surprised no one's pointed out that Sakura sounded really funny for the first half of the episode, and about 60% of the way through she sounded normal again. Until then she sounded like a nasal imitation of Kate Higgins, not Kate Higgins.

Blargh . . . at least everyone else sounded up to par. Ben Diskin seemed to be having fun with Sai in this one.

I never saw thsi filler or any filler in Shippuden really but I heard this one is really funny and has nice fight scenes and according to my research this and the other fillers for Shippuden are canon based prior to the original story of the manga(graphic novel). Most people just complain about fillers and never really give them a chanc.

Pretty good episode of Shippuden this week, I'm liking the training session Kakkashi is giving Naruto but I kind of wish Naruto wouldn't interupt so much and be so annoying at times, I guess that's just in his character though so I learn to deal with it. I liked the way that they explained the natures of the chakra's during the training, it's a good way for those who may be new to the show to understand the different powers that the characters have and what each one means, good job to the writers for that one. All in all I thought it was a good episode and I'm looking forward to next weeks airing, I love the fact that Disney XD didn't give up on the show and that it's still plugging along every week in primetime and not at 2 in the morning or some whacked out time like that.

Anyway, like most of Shippuden's filler, this expands on the Naruto story a bit and throws in just enough canon material to keep the storyline important. I will admit Naruto's obnoxious sleeping was pretty funny at the beginning too.

Freeze frame moment: Asuma's cigarette is still in the fight scene with the old guy with the spear. It doesn't stay there very long, the old guy cuts the cigarette out of his mouth. So that part of the OP is actually unedited, a surprise just like naked crucified Sasuke.

I missed last week's episode so this is my first time watching "Blue Bird" on television and I really like it. Anyway, the episode was pretty fun and interesting I think. Learning all of the different styles was a pretty interesting thing for me since I never realized any of that stuff (It helps that I don't really think too hard when I watch Naruto). I kind of guessed that Naruto would have be Wind-style fighter so I celebrated when I got it right. A small victory for me I guess.

If the experience is carried over from the clones as well as the fatigue does that apply with the pain like if one clone got slashed or stabbed will the original feel the pain or is it just when Naruto undoes the jutsu he gain the experience?

Perhaps the recombining part - although Kakashi sounded like Narto should have noticed it a loooooooonnnng time ago - but simply sending a clone as a forward scout, he could have been doing it all this time. Of course... that would have really altered the story telling.

I just want to say that the new kid, Sora, really gets under my skin, and I found him to be one of the worst characters, filler or not, in Shippuden. I can't believe he got his own filler arc.

Great episode of Naruto this past week, I loved the part where Sai tried to comfort Naruto only to end up freaking him out and ticking him off, that scene was kinda funny and gave me a good laugh. I liked the altercation between Naruto and Sora, that was interesting as well and I look forward to seeing what happens between the two as the story progresses, I also hope to see more and more of Kakkashi sooner than later as well (he wasn't even in this episode).

I can't wait for next weeks episode to air, this show just gets better and better as it goes and I've been trying to pick up the DVD's whenever they hit store shelves (still missing one or two), so hopefully Disney XD keeps this show going on their lineup for a good long time to come.

This episode got censored to oblivion, it was painful to watch at times as they cut away from Sai's arm being broken, changed violent SFX left and right, completely rewriting Fuka's dailogue . . .

And here I was hoping the censorship would become more lenient, not less. *sighs*

Why does that matter? Edward Elric's a wildly different role than a crossdresser. Admittedly, it's amazing that DXD didn't force Viz to re-record Fuen's dialogue with a female VA to hide what Fuen is after everything else that got censored.

I've been catching up with the past couple weeks worth of Shippuden on my DVR, thank god for things like DVR and VCR's for recording shows while I'm at work or out and about, I've seen these episodes before but I've been following Shippuden on DVD and Disney XD everytime new content is available and I hate it when I fall behind.

I've been enjoying the little graverobbing arc that's been going on, especially the interactions between Naruto and Sora, their little tiff was interesting to see play out early on and to see them kinda working together has been neat as well.

"I'm gonna own this village"....Well to do that you need to first deal with the hundreds of skilled ninjas, ANBU, and Tsunade. Seriously if Tsunade scares you then you don't wanna meet Anko.

I just caught up with the past 3 weeks worth of Shippuden (thanks DVR!) and I'm really loving everything that's going on between the grave robbers and the gang, the battles within the caves were pretty cool and the whole storyline of Sora accompanying the team to the village has been fun. I'm really liking Sora, he's a cool character but he seems to either have a chip on his shoulder or an alternative motive, it will be interesting to see how he blooms over the next several episodes, especially for those who haven't seen these episodes before.

Great stuff from Shippuden as per usual, I can't wait for Wednesday night!

Ah, guess they're not quite up to Nicktoons' level yet since Kai never has moaning (Well, not in the Nicktoons version). As for blood, I think ViZ should try using Funimation's method:

If Dragonball Kai can get away with orange blood and it's Y7 rated, maybe Naruto Shippuden could get away with it too. Of course, Disney's standards probably extend beyond the rating requirements.

On Naruto on DXD they've shown blood a couple times.

And when they do show blood they either leave it or make it a bit darker like when Deidara got his arm ripped off by Kakashi's Kamui(black hole vortex jutsu thingy)

This arc has finally reached the climax....that is only when fillers actually get good.

Its a good thing they can mention death but can they show it.

Well at least they stopped saying "destroyed" for awhile.

I think destroy should only be use when someone says I will kill you or as when the good guys threaten to kill the bad guys other wise they should use something else like "do off", "eliminate", or anything else. Destroy sounds a bit stupid and should be used in an content of obliterating an enemy or should be barely used.

Differnt networks have differnt standards. This is PG material to them. There have still been cases where blood is shown, death is pretty overt, violence is more than your typical disney show, themes like brothers "destroying" familes are still present so it's still PG.

It's amusing that the attractive woman in the filler bad group is fighting the most powerful ninja (Naruto), yet she's still alive while the other two subordinate bad guys are presumably dead at the hands of Yamato and Sakura. Yeah I notuced the wide screen thing too.

It made the episode feel so cinematic like I was watching FMA: Brotherhood or Pokemon(current).

With the whole wide screen I can finally see the other 2 Akatsuki in the corner in the opening.

Yeah, I've been very on and off with this arc. I saw some of the episode yesterday where Naruto and the guys were getting knocked around but I changed the channel when Naruto started to talk about how they (Him and Sora) were the same or something like that. Yeah, Sora was never very interesting to me.

The only good thing was the action and the fact that DXD showed Naruto and Sora's skin burning this time.

It's interesting how this arc spun out of canon material and then slipped right back into it towards the end. There's no real clean "break episodes" where you can remove it without removing some canon material too.

Yeah, showing Naruto and Sora's skin burn this time (and Sakura running face-first into Tsunade's bosom in an earlier episode) were points for Disney XD. I can only wonder what else they will allow as the series continues...

The ending of this filler reminded me of the ending to Mega Man Battle Network 2 where the ******bag(Sora/Shun) tried to destroy the main character and his friends but is stopped and the good guys later befriends and shows him the power of friendship.

This filler wins on the touching and heart moving department for this episode.

2 New Akatsuki members just popping up like that makes it worth while

We still have Blue Bird for a few more episodes before opening 4 begins.

The fight between Hidan, Kakuzu, and Yugito (the girl with the two-tailed cat spirit) was between three Marvel VAs: Quinton Flynn (Human Torch in the 90's FF toon), Fred Tatiscore (The Hulk in god-knows-how-many toons), and Colleen O'Slaughnessey (Wasp in A: EMH). Fairly interesting and useless trivia.

Next episode will be 100% canon more or less, as the ramifications of the filler fade.
