John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #13 1/2

Hey Gang-

Harl's a little busy this week, so she gave me the okay to get this week's Delaney Poll going. I know we're gonna have a blast with it this week. It's being put up much earlier than usual, but we wanted to give you guys lots of time to make your decision in this weeks poll, I don't know about you guys... but I know with all these great choices, I'm going to have a difficult time picking out which one I'd like Mr. Delaney to sketch.

...and, in case you guys miss seeing it, here's Harl's Message, C&Ped for your viewing pleasure =)

Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone!

Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be!

The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action!

Have a go at this! The Australian Zoo's very own Steve Irwin finally got in after all those requests! GO CROC HUNTER! It would be great to have a sketch of him before the opening of Collision Course. Maybe John could give us a bonus and include Terri Irwin in a shot like the Cowboy Bebop sketch, except they'd be taking down a croc. I see the potential for an amazing action shot. Better than any Supergirl sketch we could get, huh gang? :D VOTE FOR CROC HUNTER!

Guys, everyone knows that you should only vote for one of the two characters in the lead on the poll, so you know it's between Gary & Croc Hunter.

Considering that this appears to be a non-poll, with lots of non-flaming going on, I figure there should be some good ol' fashioned non-lobbying...

DO NOT VOTE FOR STEVE IRWIN!!!

He simply would not make for a worthwhille sketch.

We've all become acustomed to (or spoiled by) John's action-packed, comical, electric, dynamic style. None of these words apply to such a boring, mundane, garden-variety nature show host.

The potential image of The Crocodile Hunter hog-tying Barney The Purple Dinosaur or Gary Coleman is not, in any way, at all funny.

And speaking of two-charactor sketches, Steve's wife is just as un-interesting. The Wonder Twins have better on-screen chemistry.

I've never seen Butt Ugly Martians, so I can't tell you a reason why they are a better choice. But then, I've never been able to sit through anything Irwin's done on Animal Planet. His show is that dull!

And you know that show is fake. Cobra bites? Puh-lease. The fangs are prosthetic. If you want to see someone be gummed to death for thirty minutes, go for the Rugrats. Or Golden Girls.

A vote for The Crocodile Hunter is a vote for the inhumane way he treats all those crocodiles. If you need an inane, crude, senslessly violent TV fix, vote Teletubbies.

Dont forget the one crucial factor that's determined so many polls in the past: Steve Irwin doesnt have a cartoon ! Punky Brewster's 15 minutes of fame, on the other hand, spun off into an animated series. If that's not a reasonable argument, I dont know what is.

And think of poor John! Irwin couldn't possibly hope to inspire him to do more than a half-harted, throwaway stick-figure. If you want a stick figure, vote Plank!

So please join me by throwing away a vote on anyone but Steve Irwin.
