View Full Version : Announcement: That's All, Folks... It's Time For a Change

Jon Cooke

As much as I hate to say it, I think I am losing interest in the Looney Tunes cartoons. All this Speedy Gonzales and Baby Looney Tunes stuff has kind of turned me off. However, I am pleased to announce a new and exciting direction for my site and the Termite Terrace Trading Post.

The other night, I mentioned my love of the 1982 Hanna-Barbera production The Gary Coleman Show to Jack, Matthew, Brian, Thad, and a couple others. To my amazement they ALL adored this overlooked gem of a show as much as myself.

I have completely redesigned and relaunched my old Looney Tunes page as Gary Coleman Show: The Fansite. The TTTP will now serve as a Forum to GCS: The Fansite.

It's a true animation treasure, filled with delightful characters. There's Andy LeBeau (played by Gary Coleman), Angelica, and Hornswaggle. They are just as funny as any character from the classic WB, Walter Lantz, or MGM cartoons.

Enjoy the new look!!!!

Glad you took my advice Jon! In honor of the new look, I've changed my avatar to Hornswaggle, the dastardly villain of The Gary Coleman Show! And I'm hards at work preparing The Gary Coleman Show: The Early Years as we speak!

I was really thrilled when Jon told me he loved the Gary Coleman Show, I have been a closet fan for many years. I thought I was alone in the world. I hope you all come to love Gary and his heavenly pals as much as we do.

Jon,

Seeing that today is April Fools Day, this better be no more than your idea of an April Fools Joke.

By the way, I had planned to completely retool my Superman Web Central site into the "Kirsten Dunst vs. Speedy Gonzales site", but the Kryptonian Council wouldn't let me.

Folks, trust me. The Termite Terrace Trading Post still exists and will resume tomorrow at its regularly scheduled time.

This is serious. We all love Gary! I told Brian that perhaps we should wait until May to put up the new design and content. But we got so excited about the whole idea, we decided to unveil it today.

BTW, I am getting some RARE episodes in a tape trade with Thad. Including "Mack's Snow Job"!!! :D

That's where you're wrong! There's nothing funny about The Gary Coleman Show! :D

Perhaps the Toon Zone Main Page (http://www.toonzone.net) is more to your liking?

(Homer Simpson voice): Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Kirsten Dunst - BRING IT ON!

BTW - This afternoon I'm posting part one of my exclusive 12 part interview with Coleman entitled "TGCS - The Early Episodes", in which Gary tells his side of the infamous Joe Barbera lunchbox incident.

Whoops, gotta go - Goober's on!

I take it the Goober and the Ghost Chasers petition link is fake too?

This is great! I've searched for Gary Coleman Show fansites for years and have always come up short. Kudos to you, Jon!

I told one of my cartoon characters about your site. She's a big fan, and just recently started a thread advertising your site on my message board. Yay!

I'm so mad CN took Gary Coleman off the air. Other shows I wanna see are The Brady Kids, and the rarely seen "The Cosby Mysteries". I remember Cosby, those jerks, why would they cancel such a great show? It had endless possibilities!

This is just cruel and unusual punishment. Just because today is April 1 does not mean that we have to go through with this stuff. Besides, Gary Coleman is not the perfect idea to center a webpage around. Wake me when you say "April Fools" and things return to normal on this board.

Congratulations on the new message board! I love the new look!!! I think it's about time that fans for underrated cartoons came forth to support their favorite shows. I know that I have been inspired to start my own website in supprt of one of my own favorite, often-overlooked cartoons:

The Super Globetrotters!!!

I hope to have my website up and running soon! In the meantime we can all look forward to Boomerang showcasing this cartoon this month. If anyone is interested in a trade for these please pm me.

Legion of Doom beware!!! Here come the Super Globetrotters!!!

Yeah, we had a great discussion about who made the best cartoon villain: Hornswaggle from GCS, Gargamel from the Smurfs, or Mister Peevley the Zookeeper from Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch.

I also got Jack mad for calling Mack a lame supporting character on the GCS! (sorry, Jack!!) :D

Why does everyone think this is an April Fools joke??? :(

Whacoo talkin' about Willis?

Just kidding, I know what you are saying.

BTW, TNN is airing "Diff'rent Strokes" weekdays at Noon.

EDIT: Look, no offense, but I am not very sure if you are serious about this, or if this is some kind of hoax for April Fools Day. I just saw your site and it looks pretty much the same, only with "Gary Coleman" everywhere it used to say "Looney Tunes". Once I click the links, all I see is LT info, not GC info.

Just for all of this, I won't see anyone on this MB until tomarrow morning, when I get the truth.

Probably because:
1. You made the "Big Annoucement" on April 1st, April Fools Day.
and
2. It all sounds too good to be true.

I bet you'd reconsider after you watched an episode of The Gary Coleman Show. "Take My Tonsils, Please!" is even better than some of those "classics".

It must be your computer, Augie. I have no problems seeing the GCS information. Everything loads fine. I have even got e-mails thanking me for uploading the complete episode, "The Prettiest Girl In Oakville".

Anyone else having problems with my Fansite?

Every link went to the classic cartoon information that used to be there. It's probably not my computer. What is more likely is that you never uploaded the Gary Coleman information. :)

Wow that's seems to be going back a long way- My favourite episode was the one where Merlin the Magic Mynah got trapped in a pop can because of Ping and Pong.

I can still hear that "canned" sound effect of the bongo drums (which represented their running away quite often) played ad nauseum during the entire sequence of the canning machine.....

Ahhh- Filmation. Where would we have been without you?

Well I for one am offended by this Gary Coleman character. He gives off the illusion that all wisecracking African-American boys can appear and disappear at will, must cock their halos to the side, and are easily intimidated by wiry middle-aged white women.

I am very happy that Cartoon Network decided to ban this series. Impressionable children could have been watching this program on Fridays at one in the morning.

I applaud Cartoon Network for their decision to remove this cartoon from the air. It shows that they are really looking out for the children, our nation's best natural resource. Or something.

But since I don't want to be a wet blanket, are we at least allowed to discuss other cartoons, specifically "Devlin" and "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home?"

I can't believe SOME people are actually still talking about LOONEY TUNES when for several months in 1982 a truly brilliant, trancendent show was beamed down from heaven into our television sets by NBC. I for one hope to never clutter a "classic animation" message board again with something so utterly mundane as WB and MGM cartoons.

Thank you so very much guys for finally coming to your senses

Yes, but I fixed it at the beginning of the day.

Here's how to fix it:

You have to shut down all of the programs currently running. Go into the Control Panel and change the Date/Time to 12 noon on Dec. 31 1999. Now, restart the computer 10 times. Be sure to pay attention because if a frowning smiley face ever appears on the screen during a restart, you need to press the space bar IMMEDIATELY. The smiley face will only appear in the lower right hand corner, so be sure to keep your eyes on that corner. After the 10th restart, your problem will be solved.

:p ;) :D
