Great episode and one of the better ones. Pretty sneaky tying those GCI folk from the State University speech with Billy & White, Monstroso, the Guild, and King Gorilla.

Favorite lines were "Men don't keep secrets", "When you got Shoreleave and Samson, all you need are alibis and body bags", "Those were prostitutes" and "We actually have to set sail."

So next week...Revenge Society?

No new episode next week. We get a hour long season finale on Nov 21 so we are going to have to wait a month beofre the finale. Good episode, sorta sad to See King Gorrilla go, he was hilliarious back in seasons 1 and 2. Billy was funny and the fire extiiungisher going off on the prostitutes was funny. Has Shoreleave been in every episode this season? I guess he is a recurring supporting character now. Can't wait for the finale though. Maybe an all out OSI vs the Guild vs Spinx vs the Revenge Society war.

Not sure if it was an homage, rip-off or just a coincidence, but I remember reading a similar storyline from a Batman comic. Basically, a mob boss named Blockbuster (guy was huge) wanted to capture a rival gang boss (who happened to be a gorilla) as a possible donor to replace his failing heart.

I wouldn't be surprised. They've gone pretty obscure with their comic book references lately. I can't believe it took me a while to get the other reference to the Green Goblin in the Butter-Glider episode, or the Nicholas Hammond shout-out with the Brown Widow.

Actually, I'm still surprised they even referenced Degrassi. I cracked up when Shore Leave pointed that out.

So does White care about Billy? I suppose. Billy just wants to get somewhere in his life, apparently. Even if he has to get shady to become legitimate. The ending is great, though. "Is he well enough so I can kill him yet?"

Didn't find much to like about White and Hatred in the panic room, though.

Actually the focus of this episode has been characters we've been focusing on more then one would think for the entire half season: Pete White and Billy, and SPINX. I'm not saying their bad characters or anything but really besides one episode we've been seeing them in pretty much every episode the second half of this season. I guess to remind people Brock is still a main character and because Doc and Jackson love writing for Billy so much now. I would of appreciated a bit more variety in the second list characters like we got in the other part of season four then we got here honestly. Also considering how much this episode had in the Season 4 volume 2 trailer, the various promos and the sneak peak snippet giving a good chunk of the plot away I was overly spoiled more on this episode then I probably should of been.

So was it a bad episode? Well not really. Though I didn't really care for the Sgt Hatred/Pete White bits beside Sgt. Hatred calling White a star*******. (I think it's obvious Pete cares for Billy as a friend but just takes him for granted since he can be a rather lazy jerk. I really don't view think there's a romantic undertone to their relationship, just that the two have more expierence dealing with each other then dealing wit hte ladies). There were some good scenes with Billy and Monstro though, mainly Billy saying out of all people he shouldn't be questioning someone size, Monstro pointing out those vampire girls were hookeres (I noticed their VAs weren't listed in the credits so I wonder who actually did the voices) as well as what hte whole purpose was behind kidnapping Billy. I'm guessing the fight that Monstro had with 21 and Brock in "Pinstripes and Polergiests" weakened his already battered heart and made him depseratley need the transplant right away. And I liked how it tied into King Gorilla being released from the first episode of this part of the season as well as character development of Billy wanting to be something more but just cowboying up and doing what he has to do.

The best parts were defintley the SPHINX stuff in this episode. Kind of wish we got more Brock fighting (since we haven't had any of that onscreen since the first half the season despite Brock appearing in a lot of episodes in this half) but the bits against the guards were good. I also liked Hunter pointing out they only drugged Billy before under orders of OSI and comparing that to throwing a pen at him (to be fair they did drug Billy when they were Sphinx but probably for his own good in that case). As well as the Pirate Captain's appearence (are they actually going to do something with Jonas Jr in the season finale though since they've been hitngint at that space shuttle several times now) and him asking them to help set up the pirate boat. I'm kind of hoping the ending of Monstro recuperating in the OSI Base leads into the season finale since otherwise it feels kind of an abrupt ending. Espiecally since they already teased Monstro dying before when he didn't really. So yeah a decent ep but far from VB's best. I still think the first half of this season was stronger though I"m still really pumped for the season finale. Let's hope that is far from being a series finale since even with an hour left there's still a lot of Venture goodness that can be squeezed out from this series.
