Well, looks like any news of last nights episode being re-edited for AS standards was wrong, unless they've decided that adults can't take anything rated over TV-Y7.

Edits, courtesy of Anime News Network's Kyle Pope:

1. Blood gushing from Kou's arm wound digitally removed. (They showed
the blood in the previous episode. Why edit it from the flashback?)

2. Simone's "God, Scott!" changed to "Scott!"

3. Scene of Pasarov chugging down booze from two bottles cut.

4. Keith's "Kou! Drink up! Enjoy yourself! Have fun!" changed to
"Kou! Lighten up! Enjoy yourself! Have fun!"

5. Monsha's drunken facial flush digitally removed. Monsha's hiccups
also deleted from dialogue.

6. Monsha's "I ripped those Delaz guys right out of their suits and
tore them a new one" changed to "I ripped those Delaz guys right out
of their suits and tore them to pieces".

7. Monsha's "Is this any time to be drinkin' and enjoyin' yourself?"
changed to "Is this any time to be relaxin' and enjoyin' yourself?"

8. Luna thug's cigarette digitally replaced with a toothpick.

9. Scene of Luna thug blowing smoke in Kou's face before beating him
up cut.

10. Not an Edit... Blood in Kou's mouth intact.

11. Graffiti digitally removed from bus.

Okay, let me elaborate since I was vague.

The episodes that have REALLY been fixed up by Williams Street are episodes 11 thru 13.

TV-PG was assigned to episodes 6 and 7 because that was going to be their rating on Toonami anyway(Nothing mentioned this). I didn't believe him before but I get it now.

Besides, episodes 6 and 7 aren't that interesting. Would you rather the end of the series be intact, or a couple of throwaway episodes in the middle?

Also, it's rumored that Williams Street is now going through the less important episodes and fixing them, such as Gundamjack.

(p.s. episode 11 contains the scene from the promo where the crew is ripped apart by the ship's explosion. Episode 12 contains a few dead bodies with blood floating around.. if you recall the 0083 promo for ASA, a scene from episode 12 is used.)

Geez all you people are always complaining about editing stuff. I'm sure that they have reasons to edit whatever. Its just a few change of lines here and their and a little removal of blood. Just watch the show. If you didn't read reviews would you have know that some of these lines are edited. I always hear complaints about edits and it makes feels like you people don't no how to appreciate what others are doing for us. they're showing this on tv. How much do these edits take away from the the overall show.. Not much. Sure i'd rather watch unedited stuff but what cn is doing now is just fine. Practically everything on tv is editted slightly from original. Movies on normal cable networks are always editted a bit. So just watch what is there. And if you want to watch unedited stuff pull out some cash.

Ummm you're missing the point of the post...

You see, this one was supposed to be the first edited for AS episode (Matt already cleared this up). Sheamon was merely pointing out that it was not.

who gives? as long as i enjoy the episode, i really could care less about the edits.

i swear, ive never seen TV-PG and ratings discussed enough times in this board since TV Guide.

The episode was filler. I want the action scenes unedtited.

Besides editing so the show isn't "offensive", I'd say another reason is to get sponsors. I doubt that AOL would want to be advertised around a show with blood violence and nudity.

Anyway, as long as the edits have nothing to do with the quality of the story, I have no problem with it. Besides, by telling what's edited, maybe it's a way to get people to spend money on the DVD's (unedited being a "extra feature").

You miss the entire point. I could care less what they edit on the show. What I do care about is when I hear blatant lies from the channel/WS/whoever's responsible about the matter, such as all the news about last nights episode being re-edited for adults. If you're gonna edit the show for 7 year olds, good for you! Just stop saying its for adults!!!!!

Thanks for clearing things up :p

BTW, on the matter of those promos, is anyone else as mad as me over the ridiculous spoilers contained in them? (you know what I mean if you've seen it)

No, it wasn't. It was just some random Feddie ship.

then nevermind me about my possition in the edits stuff. I didn't know that you were talking about false rumors. Forgive me if i misunderstood you all.

I personally never listen to rumors. You never know how they even get started. :D

[indent]Thanks for clearing that up Matt. I had thought it was odd that the middle episodes would be reedited. To me it made the most sense, especially if they were not going to be able to reedit the whole thing before it aired, to edited from the end and work their way to the beginning. It would really stink to watch something unedited for awhile and then see the end cut up.

Yeah, but why rate this ep and next week's ep TV-PG if they are edited to TV-Y7? But I do agree that re-editing the eps toward the end would be better than re-editing the filler eps in the middle.

On a side note: Did anyone catch what Kou was saying when he was punching that former Zeon soldier with one arm he was staying with? In the unedited version he said "God damn you", but I didn't catch the censored line. To me it sounded like they took out the "God" and left in the "damn you". But then again, I was sleepy, the volume was low, and I wasn't really paying attention. So could anyone clear that up for me?

Edited for adults. What an oxymoron.
