Does anybody know when and/or if this occurred in Batman Beyond: "Bruce also reveals to Terry some details behind the death of Alfred Pennyworth (http://www.toonzone.net/wiki/Alfred_Pennyworth). He explains that shortly before the incident in the first episode of Batman Beyond (where Bruce retires as Batman), Alfred had left Gotham City (http://www.toonzone.net/wiki/Gotham_City) for England (http://www.toonzone.net/wiki/England) to attend his son's graduation from Christ Church College (http://www.toonzone.net/wiki/Christ_Church_College), Oxford University (http://www.toonzone.net/wiki/Oxford_University). Despite Alfred's promise to return, he never did, and Bruce never hired another manservant."

What is that from Wikipedia?
That explanation was definitely never given in the animated series.
(Maybe in the comic book based on the TV series... I have no idea, I never picked up those.)

It is indeed from the 'ped. Yeah it didn't sound familiar to me at all. I'd always thought Alfred was one of the mysteries left unexplained.

Off the top of my head, I don't remember there ever being even one reference to Alfred in Batman Beyond.

Yeah, same here. I had just assumed he died.

The only Alfred reference I remember is one where after Max finds out Terry's identity and she helps him, which leads to their partnership where she says something like "Just don't call me Robin", and Terry responds "Okay, Alfred."

Yes, sounds like a lie. The only thing I can think is perhaps the editor of this included events from the Gotham Adventures comics or something which most don't take as canon with the animated series.
