Anyone who's been following the Wonder Woman movie through its run of rumors can add another page to this story. At least this is confirmed since it comes from the director. First Sandra Bullock was rumored to be in the role, then numerous other actresses, and lately Jennifer Connelly. Now Sandra Bullock is back as first choice, and the movie, which for awhile was rumored to be a new NBC tv movie with the possibility of a new series, is another big screen number. Luckily, the director, Len Goldburg, is taking his time finding a GOOD screenplay to get this picture off the ground. If all goes to plan, we'll see Wonder Woman on the big screen by early 2003 it looks like. So Superman (Lives), Batman Year One, Wonder Woman, and a possible World's Finest movie are on 2003's current DC Comics motion picture release list. Here's part of IGN's article on the interview where Goldburg reveals the status of this project:

March 29, 2002 - Gossip columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith recently had a talk with movie producer Len Goldberg about a couple of his upcoming high-profile girl-powered projects. Goldberg has both Charlie's Angels 2 and the Wonder Woman feature film in development.

Despite her "cutesy" look, it seems that actress Sandra Bullock is still the producer's choice for the title role in Wonder Woman. Goldberg says that the project may take a little longer than he was first anticipating. He says, "The first-draft screenplay wasn't what we'd hoped. Now we're waiting on a new story outline, and once that's approved, a writer should have the script completed in two months or so." Bullock is reportedly interested in the role, but she wants to review the screenplay before committing to the project. Despite the delays, Goldberg is hoping to get the film underway by this summer.
