Boondocks small jokes

Does anyone know if McGruder is a fan of A Tribe Called Quest or De La Soul? When I was watching the season finale, the terrorist name was Ali Shaheed Mohammad which is the name of the DJ for A Tribe Called Quest. The security guards name was Dan Stucky which was a name of a private joke that De La Soul used repeatedly on 3 Feet High and Rising. I heard the terrorist name and just dismissed it as coicidence, but when I heard him use Dan Stucky also, then it clicked to me that it might be a way to pay homage to the bands. Where these the only ones? Am I the only one who caught this? Can anyone help me out?

I'm pretty sure he would be. He's a pretty big hip-hop fan, as evidenced by the show, while also being a critic of it. Jedi Ghostface is probably my personal little favorite cameo.

I wouldn't be surprised. Because of this show I got to hear a lot of good hip hop I haven't heard of before. Doesn't this show have a soundtrack or mixtape?
