Hey guys,

My parents' computer has been getting a lot of spam lately. You know, naughty spam. My mom doesn't like to have to deal with it, and I don't like to think about her dealing with it. I'm wondering if there's any good spam filtering programs that anyone could suggest? It would help if they'd let my mom continue using Outlook since she isn't exactly computer-savvy and it would take her a while to learn how to use a different program. Any help would be appreciated. :)

I'd search google. Haven't had any experiance with out look, but would your mom ever consider using excite, yahoo or something? Its not that great, but It'll block spam.

Yeah, I've found some programs, but they seem too complicated. I might not get any answers here, but I was hoping that someone might have enough experience with this stuff to help me out. I might try getting her to use Yahoo or something though, thanks for the recommendation. Can you use Yahoo, Hotmail or any of those to read email sent to other addresses?

Well, I don't think they can read it, unless you set up the email to forward to the current address.

You may want to get a program called Ad-Aware. It's at www.lavasoftusa.com. It can pull out the junk that gets stuck in your browser from spyware and advertiser ninjas. Once you run it, you will probably notice a drop in your junk mail. Worked for me! :D
