Episode #22 - Power Play
Original Airdate - February 2nd, 2002
Richie, jealous that Virgil's the one with superpowers and not him, encounters a Fagin-like vagrant called the RAGTAG MAN, who has the ability to give temporary powers to others. Richie uses his dose to be the superhero he's always wanted to be, but unfortunately, the dosages are addictive. Static must convince Richie of the dosages' negative side-effects before it's too late.

KWB reaired the episdoe today. Its not me favorite Static episode ever. but it was good. It introduced a new Rogue to Static's gallery. i wonder if He'll ever take him on again? He could possibly be static's greatest advessary if he used his powers right.

I agree. Not the most stellar of episodes, but the new baddie has a lot of potential.
And...another mention of a DCU hero...Green Lantern. :)

It's metahumor. Phil LaMarr also voices the Green Lantern on Justice League.
Ragtag is so far the only non-teen Bang Baby we've seen on the show...so are healthy middle-aged adults not susceptble to the effects of the gas, only those whose bones are not fully developed, depleted becasue of old age, or whose hormones are out-of-whack?
My mom kept saying the powers were evil because Ragtag was evil. I had to correct her and say it isn't the power per se, but the application of them. Give an a-hole unimaginable power and he will become a super a-hole. "I mean, what do you expect a [guy] to do when he wakes up in the morning with, say, a giant set of feet?" I said. "Join a ballet company?" ;)

Hey guys, don't forget that "Attack of the Living Brain Puppets"
is next week's episode. It's pretty darn cool.
Best,
Dave

The episode wasn't all that bad. Not great, but not terrible. It was sort of that 'been there, done that' formula , just applied in Static's universe. There was some very nice animation in this episode which surprised me abit. A pretty average episode, but on the whole - totally enjoyable.

This was a great episode, Th GL reference made me realize how GLesque Static's powers are. Just imagine an ongoing show like this about a guy who wants more than anything to be a superhero so when he makes a deal like on today's episode he takes on two secret identities. The hero he always wanted to be. And The soper crook he has to be to fuel his power. Imagine an ongoing show about a disfunctional superhero like that.

A pretty good episode i'll give it four stars. I really like Rag Tag his powers were kinda cool. i just wish it had a little more action at the end. Also the way Virgil and Richie settle their argument was pretty funny :p
