I've read internet rumors about a possible She-Hulk film, it's been said that Megan Fox wants to play the main character (LMAO) and there's another rumor that Beyonce wants to play the She-Hulk in the up-coming Avengers movie (LHM). But if I were to do it, here's how I'd cast and create the premise of the movie!

My Ideal cast:

Laura Prepon or Ali Larter as Jennifer Walters

Kenneth Branagh as The Leader

Ted Danson as Nicholas Trask

Ty Burrell as Doc Samson

Premise

After Bruce Banner gives a blood transfusion to save the life of his cousin, Jennifer Walters, she finds herself (like Bruce) transforming out of anger or frustation into a green female powerhouse counterpart of her cousin. Meanwhile, there are two evil genuises that now after her, Nicholas Trask, a crimelord who wants Jennifer dead, so she won't testify against him in the Supreme Court and the Leader, who figures he can use the She-Hulk for his evil, demonic purposes in his quest for world domination. I'd concentrate on the Savage, instead of the Sensational She-Hulk, it would be more awesome and more powerful.

Mod Note: Not officially announced, ergo no need for 'Pre-Release Discussion' thread.

They can't even get a TIH sequel off the ground. I doubt they'd bother with She-Hulk.

I don't see this happening till after Hulk 3. For once it would be nice to see them do a spin-off around the same time as a sequel to coincide with it. No reason they can't film both movies at once.

The spinoffs are usually just to get a quick buck and not much more. I could see Larter in the role.

Just so long as whichever actress who plays Shulkie wears this outfit at some point... :D

I'd say focus more on Sensational She-Hulk. I don't think people who will see a woman hulked-up when angry is going to be taken seriously.
Might as well play on the comedy aspects of her franchise, as well as the action, like how a normal business lawyer now has to deal with the fact that she's a lean green, fighting machine.
Though as much as I love She-Hulk, deep down inside I don't think it'll work either way. People unaware that she existed prior will find this ridiculous.

Um, they already tried to do a Sensational She-Hulk movie, remember?

And it did not work!!!!!

That's why I said Marvel should concentrate on the Savage She-Hulk and not the "boring" Sensational one.

I always wondered what happened with that movie. Brigitte Nielsen did those promo photos, but that was all anybody ever saw, and plans for the movie just sort of vanished into thin air.

I agree! :D

Have there been different versions? I've always seen She-Hulk looking like a rather trim, athletic type who just happens to be green rather than having a more Hulk-like form.

No.

Savage She-Hulk had Jeniifer Walters Hulk-up when she got angry. Sensational She-Hulk could never change back into her human form (although she could eventually).

Bill Bixby died, that's what happened. Though it's possible the "made for TV" film wasn't going to take off anyway...but Bixby's death put the nail in the coffin.

I know Bixby's death brought the next Hulk movie to a stop. But the She-Hulk movie was its own thing and supposed to be a feature film (though it probably would have ended up direct-to-video, if the promo pictures were any indication), so I don't think his death would have affected it.

If they already had Nielsen pegged as Shulkie, I wonder who was going to be her alter ego.

The "savage" version of She-Hulk just sounds silly to me, as it'll just be another instance of taking a popular male character and throwing a dress on him. The "sensational" version of She-Hulk has gone on to be the definitive version of the character. They have to get someone besides Megan Fox to be Shulkie though. Fox in green paint just doesn't elicit the same effect as her comic character. She-Hulk's like 6'7" and ripped. They might have to cgi her, (which would suck) or hire a fitness/figure model with a similar build.

I still say a Savage She-Hulk would be much more exciting. In fact, I found this fan-made trailer

Yeah, I saw this a few years ago. Pretty good for a fan-made trailer.

Much like Karl Urban talking about a helmet-less Judge Dredd movie, I would puke in my popcorn if this happened.

Casting aside (because I haven't a clue who I'd cast as Jenny Walters), the tone would make or break this movie. It should be lighthearted, but not goofy (like the fourth-wall breaking of the John Byrne era) and with some weight to it (Jen's life thrown into chaos because of her other half).

From what I think I saw in Wizard back then, She Hulk, along with Generation X and Nick Fury, was a pilot/tv movie that Marvel was planning with Fox. After the first two fizzled out, they probably just killed the whole idea.

The 'savage' She-Hulk felt too much like a female copy of The Hulk while 'sensational' She-Hulk had a sense of humor, and none of the emotional torture that comes from gamma radiation. Even Spider-Woman had a few distinctions that set her apart from Spidey.
