Usernet MB's???

Ok, I was just searching through "The Toons" subsection and I noticed these boards. Have they been there awhile or am I just blind? ;)

I've been testing out boards that mirror usenet newsgroups since last August, but they were all hidden from the public until recently. The only three available at the moment are alt.tv.animaniacs, alt.tv.tiny-toons, and alt.animation.warner-bros. I've made a bunch more but they're still hidden. The software that downloads and posts to the newsgroups isn't perfected yet, which is why I've only only made those three groups public and kept their existence low-key.

Well that's... interesting.

So anything I post in there gets posted in the usernet hierarchy? And does the software filter out the spam? I mean, good God there's a ton of porn spam in different areas of usernet.

Yup. The software downloads new messages & uploads anything we've posted every 10 minutes (on the 5's of the hour). The news server we're using filters out spam, so you shouldn't see any (unless someone replies to the spam, then you might). I also go through the groups once in a while and delete useless crap like people advertising their Ebay auctions and stuff like that.
