As Cartoon Network keeps getting bombarded with their decison to ban an innocent cartoon character such as Speedy Gonzalez for which CN does not play cartoons with racial stereotypes, but here is some things In would like to share with eveyone and please weigh in this discussion.

How come Cartoon Network will show and feature strong laced gags with"Gay" stereotypes but won't ban those cartoons? The two shows I'm talking about are two characters(which are both the Devil) including "HIM" from The Powerpuff Girls and "THE BIG RED GUY" from Cow And Chicken. These two characters are portrayed like very feminite panzies, which could offend several in the gay community if they were to see these epsiodes.

So it tells me that CN doesn't mind poking and making fun of the Gays, but the network feels that Speedy is a bad and offensive character that no one should ever see again on their network and this tells me what direction this channel is taking when it comes to old and new cartoons.

Cartoon Network would not dare to censor anything out of their home made "Craptoon Craptoons" which I do find some of the material offensive on several of their original programing as well other offensive stereotypes on their new cartoon shows. If CN can ban classic cartoons (or characters) then maybe we should start to have another petiton to complain about their "Craptoon Craptoons" and these offensive cartoon characters that should also be banned from their airwaves.

WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE, IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER!

Actually, they have censored stuff from Cow and Chicken, including a whole episode called "Buffalo Gals" because of references to lesbians.

Now, THAT kind of stuff shouldn't be in cartoons. Especially considering the demographic....

Well, Lesbian references, I agree, that's pushing it. never liked that show. I'm not sure if CN is targeting gay people with their jokes on the Powerpuff Girls or Cow and Chicken. I think they just chose to make the characters like that to be funny, when you look at it it's pretty innocent. Him and Red Guy are a little light in their loafers (do they even wear shoes?) but I don't think they are either promoting nor condemning homosexuality.I see no harm in it. Maybe it's just a cartoon, and we're overanalyzing just like CN is overanalyzing Speedy Gonzales and Bugs Bunny. It's just the character's personalities. Now, if there is something to this, it's the reason why both characters are devils and both exhibit effeminate tendencies. I could go into a religious symbolism issue about this, as these characters are devils and the practice of homosexuality is (in the Bible anyway), seen as evil, but let us not go there. Those kinds of issues, unfortunately, tend to have a poor track record at Toon Zone. Read into that what you will.
