....... Sony were to reconcile with Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire, how you think would go through with the (now canned) 4th installment?

Here's how I see it:

Spider-Man is still world famous, while Peter Parker is still strugging with finding a good job and dealing with J. Jonah Jameson's lashings at Spidey.

Mary Jane Watson has put her acting career on hold and now teaches acting to children (in an effort to keep them off the streets)

Peter and Mary Jane are still together, worked out their problems and are now living together (they moved into an old loft apartment)

(Taking a page out of the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends ep: The Orgin of the Spider-Friends)

Peter turns in his pics of Spidey, but Jameson don't want them anymore and tells him he wants pics of Iceman and Firestar (whom he calls the Circus Freakshow) and then assigns him to take pics of a science convention (This will have nothing to do with Iron Man and the Beetle this tme). As Peter goes in, he's greeted by a dog (Ms. Lion)

and then Ms. Angelica Jones (Danneel Harris)

then was guilded away by Bobby Drake (Shawn Ashmore)

The Science Convention is where Dr. Curtis Conner (Dylan Baker) is preparing to test out his new experimental serum on a 3-legged dog and it worked, the dog grew back the leg he lost, but Conner let everybody know that the serum is still in the experimental stages and needs more time to develop it.

Things were going OK, until the Vulture (John Malkovich) shows up and causes trouble, destroying equipment, grabbing computers, vowing to control the world and causing mass destruction.

Quickly, Peter changes into Spidey and tries to stop the Vulture, then along comes Iceman and Firestar (which turns out to be Peter's golden opportunity gets a few pics), as the three join in to stop the Vulture's destruction, but it causes a big computer to fall on Dr. Conner, causing his left arm to be crushed, but Spidey gets him out of harm's way, but the villian leaves with what he wanted, a very special computer which will enable him to control people minds

As paramedics arrive, Dr. Conner is very grateful to the 3 for helping him, Spidey apologizes for his arm, but says not to worry about it and says he and the others make a great team, but they reject that idea. The next day, the Daily Bugle prints up Peter's pics and the caption:

"Your Friendly Neighborhood Spidey and the Circus Freakshow Causes Calamity & Injury"

It really upsets Peter, but Mary Jane cheers him up with some good news, the owner plans to sell the place to them and they could use the extra money as well and plans to get tennants for extra money, Peter will look around as well. While Peter stops for lunch, as he takes a bite of burger, it becomes frozen solid, then it becomes hot again.....................

To be continued...........................

While not my ideal choice for a 4th movie, that was an Interesting little take on 'The Origin Of The Spider-Friends'. I, also think that the Raimi films were cut short way too soon due to inter studio politics.

Fox owns the rights to Iceman through the X-Men franchise, so there's no way we'd ever see him show up in the Spider-Man movies.

Spiderman 4 looked like a mess anyway I'm glad it got cancelled, the vulture and vulturess just did not seem appealing in anyway. I also think Toby and Kristen weren't great for their roles. So while I would have liked a fourth movie in that continuity I'm glad it didn't happen.

Personally counting that Kristen seemed like she was going to leave the franchise anyway for a fourth movie I would have done a Hobgoblin flick. The whole movie would be about the mystery on who the Hobgoblin was, it obviously can't be the Osbornes since they're dead. You still have MJ as Peters love interest but him and Gwen remain friends, counting that MJ is pretty much the comic personality of Gwen, I say have her get killed by the Hobgoblin like Gwen was with the Green. Now this would be a shock, and there you have Gwen Stacy to replace MJ as his love interest and you get read of Kristen in a way that is faithful to the comics. At the end you find out that the Hobgoblin is the Osborne's butler, after his advice caused the death of Harry he also became crazy and thats a solid story. Well thats how I would have done things.

Interesting idea but I would rather see them do a spider-clone story. I don't want them having unlimited clones, just one clone, and keep the mystery angle.

I also sense that Sam Raimi was pretty aware that Spider-Man 3 could've been much better. Unfortunately, the powers that be at Sony continued to meddle and Raimi finally threw in the towel.

And people wonder why super hero movies always meet an untimely death so soon while other fantasy (http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/harrypotterandthedeathlyhallows/) franchises (http://www.eclipsethemovie.com/) continue to thrive, and prosper unimpeded.

Well, to be fair, those films were based off of novels and have to stay somewhat loyal to the books. Super hero movies have a looser feel and dont have to be 100% loyal.
