that magic amulet that let luthor used to turn talas magic back on herself in juste league unlimited Alive

did they , the producers, ever explain how lex got his hands on the magic amulet and what exactly it was that it cost him ?

i figure the guy either literally made a deal with the devil, neron

or he simply tracked down clarion the which boy and used him to learn the basics on the matter and learn what would be the best advice for a person like lex luthor to go with in maiking such a deal with such a being

or perhaps he simply used clarion to make the deal for him

my guess is that whatever it was he paid for magic amulet it was most likely his soul or the very least a portion of it

speaking of magic amulets

the one that morgana lefey found in kids stuff

the amulet of first magic

would that by any chance also be the lamentation pentacle that mordru used in the legion of super heroes season 2 episode trials?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1rEjlVIjJw&feature=related

this link shows mordru in losh useing a very similer looking incredibly powerful magic amulet called the lamentation pentacle

would that by any chance be the same thing?

perhaps all 3 amulets are but thirds of a greater whole .

How Luthor got the amulet is irrelevant to the story. Dude's rich. You can do anything you want if you've got the money.

The producer said that LOSH "could" be part of the DCAU, and that he was keeping things vague to "let fans decide".

How did Luthor get that magic amulet he used on Tala in JLU's "Alive"???

The writers gave it to him.

:p
Okay, my real answer is "It was a contrived plot device" and my only guess as to why that is would be is "the final season of JLU wasn't terrifically well written".

Harsh? Well....honest.

He probably bought it. He didn't like magic but he knew it existed and could be used for or against him.

Somewhat like Batman, Luthor had a plan or device for dealing with everyone, even his allies. That's why all of the supervillains followed him, even the ones with superpowers that seemed more power that Lex's abilities.

This question is unnecessary, and no one should have to explain to you why.

ANYWAY....

Bruce Wayne was casually at an auction that was (unaware) selling magical artifacts in "The Demon Within". Bruce wasn't even TRYING to find anything. Now imagine you're Lex Luthor and you actually intentionally WANT to find a magic item to protect you. It wouldn't be that hard for someone like that.

First of all, yes, I still exist.

Okay, so I agree that trying to link the continuity of the shows to answer the question in a technical fashion is pointless, but why not have fun speculating? It's a legitimate "let the viewer decide" thing.

The way that line was written and read, it sounds like he paid way more than money. I don't know that he literally traded his soul for internal damnation, but I can imagine intense torture, or something cheesy like the inability to love (he wouldn't miss it)...or maybe his teddy bear from when he was 3 or his first Playboy from when he was 12, or his "mojo" a la Austin Powers.
