Rihanna will make her feature film debut in Universal's "Battleship" alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Kitsch.

(IMO) I rather see her in that role then likes of Lindsay Lohan,Paris Hilton and Kim Kasdashian of the world.

I think she would be better without this film on her record. If you think about it, this isn't her first film. Maybe the first action film she ever did but not the first time we've seen her in a movie. An unwanted movie, that is.

I apologize for the revival of this here thread. There haven't been a lot of news on this film but new photos of Rihanna from the set of Battleship have been leaked online. She looks like she could easily fit in with Jean-Claude Van Damme's Street Fighter.

Damn. Now my interest is peaked again, because I'll watch anything with Liam Neeson. LOL! It actually sounds like Rihanna might be more of a supporting role than one of the main leads, so that might help. But I could definitely get into seeing Liam Neeson battling aliens. :D

all board game jokes aside, it looks like a fun movie. like Battle LA...only with boats.

The teaser started off good, but kind of felt like it just petered out in the second half. Looks like it could be fun, though, and Liam Neeson could go a long way to get me to watch it. I also liked how the aliens fired some little devices that stuck into the side of the ship that looked like the pegs from the board game. :D

That trailer was some of the dumbest crap I've ever seen.

I can understand ripping off Transformers. Well, no I can't, because transforming spaceships don't really make any sense in this context. But the insipid love scene makes me think they're just going for full Bay pastiche and ripping off Pearl Harbor and Armageddon too.

My first impression: WTF. Did not see this movie coming. Having watched the trailer, I'm thinking Pearl Harbor meets Transformers. Awesome and asinine all at once. Definitely gonna have to rent this one when it's on DVD.

I don't really have anything to say about this, but I do have to point out that the underrated Peter MacNicol is in it. Cool.

Oh, and I have to wonder: if a movie adaption of Battleship can suddenly involve aliens, what will Hollywood do with Monopoly? Zombies at the stock exchange? I'd actually go and see that...
