After 11 slightly irritating years, Nick has FINALLY and unbelievably pulled the plug on Rugrats! I am so happy! It's finally over! It needed to be over. Nickelodeon FINALLY did something right! I found out all about it here: http://www.wormbaby.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=rumors;action=display;num=1016139559
Also, there's rumors spreading around that Invader Zim MIGHT get a third season. I'm not holding my breath on it, but it's something to dream about.

Well, those of course are rumors. Hate to burst your bubble, but "Zim" is cancelled and "Rugrats" are returning. Click here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24003) to read the article.

Well, I'm hoping that those who hate Rugrats were upset at the Pokemon craze, since, like Rugrats, Pokemon took over a network and spawned spinoffs. If you hated that, hopefully you spent enough energy hating that to not be too upset over this. And I truthfully was shocked to see Brandon's proclamation until I saw Vincent's, since with a third Rugrats flick coming next year[co-starring the Wild Thornberry's] it apears they're still capable of providing a few more bucks, so they wouldn't cancel them with marketability still going strong.
Oh well....Zim _does_ have a new episode tonight, and at least they renewed new eps of "Fairy Oddparents" and "SpongeBob"[anyone hear if the latter is still up for cancelation, since I'm sure numerous petitions were made to save it just like with Rugrats]

Quite frankly, I stopped watching Rugrats about four years ago when the first movie was coming out. I haven't watched it lately so I can't say whether it has gotten stale or not; all I can say is that it has been on long enough, has had enough movies (two is enough!), and has had WAY too much merchandise. I wish it would just end.

Also, the idea of a Rugrats film featuring the Wild Thornberries sounds really lame.

In other Nickelodeon related news...the new movie Ice Age is currently featuring a trailer for the upcoming Hey Arnold! movie. This came as a huge surprise to me as Nick has hardly done as much with this show as they have with their other series (such as Jimmy Neutron, even before it was released), and I had not heard anything about it...then again, I don't hear about a lot of things. ;)

I'm actually looking forward to this movie. Although it's lightning quality looks just as bad as the Rugrats film, Arnold would offer a different taste from the same old Kslaky-Csupo (major sp?) cartoons. Plus, I've always found Hey Arnold to be the funnier of the two series.

I knew it was too good to be true. :(

A Hey Arnold! movie?? Wow. I hadn't heard anything about that. But it's one of the very few things I'll watch on Nick nowadays, so I'll have to check that out :)

I remember years ago when Rugrats had yet become popular. I watched it occasionally but wasn't really a fan. I still can't figure out where that big BOOM came from, and suddenly they were the coolest thing since ice cream. Now I think it's run it's course (it's run so many laps it's become tiring and stale), and the time has come to end. I'm getting sick of hearing about Rugrats. No more movies. No more specials. Let's move on.

Rugrats will continue. In fact, CBS is airing a spin-off series this fall called Angelicia and Suzie's School Daze, featuring the two tykes in preschool.

Rugrats will be with us for another few years. Besides, they ended production once and started airing new episodes two years later, so don't expect it to end until the Rugrats franchise stops making money.

Now, if they only let the main characters turn two and learn to talk.
