I should mention that this past Monday's "movie" was the highest rated episode in TeenNick history:
Degrassi’s ‘The Heat is On’ Rises to the Top as TeenNick’s Highest-Rated and Most-Watched Telecast Ever
TV Movie Brings in Record-Breaking 1.2 Million Total Viewers
NEW YORK, July 21 /PRNewswire/ — TeenNick’s original two-hour Degrassi TV movie, “The Heat is On” (Monday, July 19, 9 p.m. ET), was a scorcher, setting a new record as the highest-rated and most-watched telecast in the net’s history with 1.2 million total viewers (+21% over the previous record-holder “Degrassi Goes Hollywood,” August 14, 2009 [977,000 P2+]).
“The Heat is On” also ranked as Monday night’s number-one rated telecast on all TV with teens 12-17 (4.2/665,000,+1300%) and females 12-17 (8.0/610,000, +1500%), besting the closest competitor (ABC Family’s The Secret Life of The American Teenager) by +23% and +33% respectively.
TeenNick also scored its most-watched week (7/12/10-7/18/10) ever with total viewers, fueled by the “Every Degrassi Ever” marathon, which posted high double-digit gains with teens 12-17 (+75%) and total viewers (+44%).
“The Heat is On” kicked off season 10 of Degrassi and the series’ six-week prime-time summer event, which features daily telenovela-style premieres every weeknight (Mondays-Thursdays at 9 pm ET now through August 26). Additionally, TeenNick will air a weekly two-hour encore of the week’s past episodes each Friday night (9-11 pm ET).
“The Heat is On” follows the Degrassi crew as school lets out for the summer. Holly J has big plans- an internship at TVM and a romantic summer with her boyfriend, Declan, in NYC. Spinner finds out that Jane cheated on him and breaks up with her at a graduation pool party. Jane hops on the plane to NYC with Holly J and Declan. The three of them take the city by storm and get into a little trouble on the way. Back in Toronto, Spinner, Jay, Manny and Emma go looking for excitement, and find a lot more than they expected.
The 10th season of Degrassi will further explore the lives of the students, as well as tackle many issues that are relevant to teens today including divorce, bullies, gender identity, community service, double standards, Internet safety, family dynamics, runaways and romance.
Degrassi, winner of both a Television Critics Association Award and two Teen Choice Summer Series Awards, is a fictional, dramatic series that tackles tough issues in a realistic way. The most authentic teen drama on television, Degrassi explores an interesting group of adolescents and young adults going through the trials and tribulations at Degrassi Community School and beyond.

I really enjoyed “The Heat is On” TV movie on Monday night. Didn’t expect Emma and Spinner to be a couple, let alone get married, but it was nice. They seem to work good together.
“What A Girl Wants” Parts 1 & 2 were pretty good too. I’m mad at Holly J and Anya for what they are doing to Sav. Not right. I’m really worried for Fiona. She’s in a really bad situation. Her boyfriend is very abusive, and her family knows she has other problems and is going to think she’s making this up. Not a good situation at all.
It’s also about time Mr. Simpson became principal. :)
I’m really enjoying the 4 new episodes pattern this event will bring. It’s much better than waiting weeks and then months for new episodes.

Count me in as one who didn't know that Emma and Spinner would be together as well. I didn't see the entire TV movie but them being a couple was coming out of left field. As for Fiona, I think that her situation has been played out in so many films and TV episodes that I wished that she was smart enough to get out of the situation rather than having herself get beaten by her boyfriend more times until someone, probably Declan, finds out about her bruises and take care of the problem. I know that it's wise to have your family and friends to be there for you when something like this happens, but I told myself that she should had broken the relationship off even if it meant her school would be in those, in her mind, "dreadful" uniforms.
As for Holly J. and Anya, I'm not sure what they're doing but with the announcement of Anya being pregnant, they'll probably going to use that to jeopardize Sav's chances of becoming class president. So my guess is that Anya's a two-timer with the possibility of her changing her ways by season's end? I'm not sure what will happen but I'm just waiting for the show to get back to, what I call, The Building Characterization of Clare. Seriously, I rather see what will happen with her this season. From one of the earlier commercials, it looks like another guy's interested in her but what could happen? I already brought up the carnival commercial in the Season 9 Talkback and I think that I known what might happen to her new boyfriend, or crush, or whatever. At this point, I just want her to be more developed. It might sound like I'm having a big crush on her, that's a bit true, but I think I have a stronger interest in seeing the younger kids goo through their problems rather than watching the older cast.

Fiona told him that she wanted to break-up, but he told her “no you don’t.” And that came after he knocked her down the stairs.
Her situation is bad. She needs to get out of the relationship, yet her family thinks she makes problems arise where there aren’t any. Plus, her boyfriend makes everyone else think he’s an all-around great guy. She seems really trapped right now.

I have to admit that she was being an idiot during "The Heat Is On" but I'm on her side right now. She needs to talk to her parents or Declan to solve this, or the principal. In the preview for the other episode, I saw her standing up on the edge of the building and the way Declan's friend looked at her was mean. It feels like they're saying "What is Fiona doing now?!". BTW, where was the Domestic Violence PSA?
I thought the election thing in Degrassi was cool. I like how they're not rushing anything, because you would think right when you see the episode, you would see some drama but really it's making its way up to the drama.

It's funny how throughout the seasons, Emma and Spinner haven't gone out but in this special they did.

It's not just you man, I'm looking foward to her this season also. The guy's name is Eli, the person who was flirting with Clare. The tarot cards in the Carnival promo, I just think he's a dark person. People have been saying that he will get in a fight with Fitz(The person who called Dave a loser during "What A Girl Wants Pt. II"). I don't think he's gonna die though. Maybe when the school goes into lockdown.
Also, the trans-gender storyline with Adam is gold. I'm glad they went on with this because I'm kinda sick of the pregnancy storylines they've been doing. Didn't see Adam except in the opening though.

These first two episodes already make up for the last two seasons, lol (well only Season 8 cuz Season 9 was pretty good).
Fiona's abusive storyline is gold, her character is amazing she switch from being a total rich b...h to an insecure lonely girl. She reminds me of Blair from Gossip Girl in a way.

At the end of the latest episode, it seemed like Fiona didn't want Bobby to be charged. I wouldn't want to go back to that school but not charging him is pretty taboo, good thing her mom came in..
Got done with the episode and I thought it was good. The problems I had with this was how TeenNick advertised this episode to be about Clare and Jenna arguing about her surgery when we only got 2 scenes of them. They should have just named this episode "What A Girl Wants Pt 3" because that's what it was. I know that they do this alot with advertising and it happened with Spongebob/Clash of the Triton. Anyways, Fiona on the roof not doing anything was boring. In the promo, it looked as if she was trying to commit suicide but that's not the case here. There wasn't even no suspense in that scene. Next, she talks to Declan and then catches a plane back to Degrassi. Wow, my parents would kill me if I flew a plane to another country. Surprised how she got away with that at the end. Glad the election between Holly J and Sav is over. Had fun with it but I didn't want it in all the episodes.
Jenna was always a jerk since I first saw her. It was none of her business to know about Clare's injury and she needs to stop calling Clare "Clare-bear", it's annoying. She also said to Clare "I'm happy with what god gave me.", I had to laugh at that.

I’m glad Anya came clean to Sav, and he took it calmly. I’m also glad that Fiona was able to tell her brother and mother, and they are ready to help her. That’s good.
As for the episode titles, Stephen Stohn said before on his Twitter (http://twitter.com/StephenStohn) that the episode titles were more for keeping track of who’s writing the episodes and not the content they cover. This season is suppose to be more telenovela-style, so the episodes are going to blend together a lot more than in the past.

What was supposed to be Clare's injury? I missed last night's episode and might miss the repeat on MTV this morning. I wonder what in the world Jenna meant by that quote? Did God give her the power of stealing other girls' men? Oh wait, that was K.C.'s fault. Speaking of which, aren't he and Jenna supposed to break up sometime this season? That would be a big slap to the face given that he managed to be Clare's first boyfriend back in Season 8 only to have him dump her because of suspicions of him checking out the 'Princess of Mean', although Alli's a close second and we all know Holly J.'s the queen.
I also read about what happened with Fiona. I think she should have had Bobby charged. I don't care how it would hurt her school and family's reputation but personal safety is more important than anything else. I know I wouldn't want to be with someone who tries to play 'Gideon's Emotional Warfare' trick keeping me trapped with the abusive person and unable to break free unless someone knows how to use the subspace freeway to get inside my head.

Jenna does sound like someone who would require surgery to keep her big mouth shut, implants, or botox to keep herself look young once she gets older. As for Clare's surgery, I wonder what was it about. Glad that she's still alive and well. And Wesley, is he still trying to mack with Clare after she bit his neck in the episode 'Innocent When You Dream' last season?

I really enjoyed this episode, I love how Clare shut Jenna up lol. Can't wait for her storyline next week. Clare actually standing up to someone? Wait, didn't see do it before with The Shep? I remember reading an episode description about that scenario but, if I recall, The Shep was a nickname for one of the teachers who gave the kids a hard time. I feel that from this post, Clare's becoming a stronger character. Let's see what else the show has for her.

Yep, Clare, KC, Alli, and Connor recorded what Shep said and presented it right in the middle of his award assembly(he should be ashamed) then the whole school boycotted the acts of Principal Shep.
Anyways, I finally caught this episode and I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad Clare stood up to Jenna, she needs to keep out of peoples' business. We finally had the debut of Eli in this episode, obviously Clare is gonna go out with him. The death card was probably describing him of being dark because notice how he told Clare that he glasses were "dead". Looking foward to seeing both in them in the upcoming episodes though.
Hopefully Anya and Sav can get this "Telling parents that they're dating" thing out of the way this season. I think we had this going on for the last two seasons so far.

It's official: Drew is a jerk. Alli is losing face too, so there is no doubt in my mind they will make a beautiful, hideous couple. I find it difficult to believe Drew will become a likable character. Then again, it's not uncharacteristic of Degrassi to have two mortal enemies become OMGBFFLOL three episodes later so who knows. Alli's obsession with popularity seems... sudden. Her background is kinda blurry to me at the moment, but I don't recall her ever being so self-conscious and desperate before. Couldn't she just hang out with Sav? She's one of the few characters that has siblings/relatives in her school. Actually, I think she's the only one currently. I don't really care much what happens to her or Drew, so I'll just wait and see.

Yep, he is a jerk. He brought that prank stuff all to himself by provoking/threatening Riley. I don't really care for Alli, especially if she's dating that idiot. Jenna finding out that KC's mother was looking for him was nice. I've been wondering if we would have a storyline for that. I'm still wondering where this "Boiling Point" drama is. SurgeV1, I'm with you. When I saw Adam get slammed against the bathroom door, I felt sorry for him. Actually, should I call Adam a her until it's official that she gets a sex change to become a guy? Anyway, I liked how Eli went off the hook after being arrested by the cops yet Claire didn't like how he went along getting into Fitz's head. To me, while I like her, she needs to realize that that's how the world works. Once you're inside someone's head, it can be difficult to get that particular thought or person out of your head. Plus, what could happen if Claire gets into a situation where she might have to use more than words to defend herself? lol Just thinking about Claire getting into a high school scuffle is funny since I doubt that something like that will happen in the series. Then again, we can't doubt the writers. They're the reason Fiona decided to have a pig run around in her condo.

So is anyone tuning in for this week's episodes? I just saw the one I missed last night on MTV in beautiful widescreen unlike the airing on Teen Nick. Geez, when will the channel stop being cheap and broadcast the episodes of this season the way they were originally filmed? I thought that Drew could had been a bit more appreciative of Alli's help. I guess she'll always going to be one of the few younger kids who'll have love troubles in Degrassi. As for the possible relationship with Holly J. and Sav? Let's see how long it'll last before Declan shows up to prove that he still cares for his lost love other than calling his sister in tears. Awww, poor baby.:p

It's only a matter of time TeenNick HD will be available to DirecTV and other cable companies. I'm watching the episodes this week. The Holly J/Sav pairing was kind of a fantasy to me, and by fantasy I mean it wouldn't happen in a million light years. Problem is I don't have the money or a HDTV to enjoy TeenNick HD at home. Waiting for the channel to arrive on Comcast's HD service in Maryland on my parents' TV is like waiting for Funimation Network to finally be a part of the channel line-up. I get the feeling that Anya will just find a way to lie again. That's how she, if I recall, almost became class president. Declan will probably lie as well even though I had thoughts of her trying to win Holly J. back with riches.
TeenNick Premiere: "Degrassi: The Boiling Point" Season 10
Tonight's Episode: "You Don't Know My Name, Part 2"
Tonight, we found out that Drew's two-timed a Marisol and Alli. He says that he didn't appreciate Alli helping out with his paper, go out with probably one-time only this episode Marisol, another ethnic cheerleader who's too agreeable with what he wanted at the restaurant, and realize that 'she's boring'. Good grief, when are we going to be free from guys who can't make up their minds when it comes to being in relationships? At least Alli realized to move on quickly rather than wait until later like her last relationship. Spoke too soon? Good for her to ignore his while he was in the hallway with his boys. Even K.C. couldn't help him and we all know what happened with him and Clare and Jenna. Also congrats for Marisol not assisting Drew with 'girl advice'. We haven't reached to Adam's beat down in the rest room and that's when we'll forget about everyone else and hope that he'll be alright especially after reading about how his secret remains hidden. Also, Sav and Holly J. kissed, longer this time though Holly J. still thought about Declan. As for the other younger crew, Connor found out that his virtual girlfriend is someone who could go to prison for sexual harassment if they hit it off. Maybe she'll ask him for advice for the RPG game?
Now it's official. Alli and Drew are a couple along with Sav and Holly J. Let's hope that the former relationship doesn't burn out. Who knows what can happen?
Tomorrow, it's the big one. Adam's secret's about to be revealed...like we haven't guessed already.

I loved tonight's episode. It leaked yesterday but I waited till tonight cause of spoilers. Love the new couples, and I think that Drew's quite awesome. He's not a jerk, he's a DUDE. That's typical behavior of us. When we're in high school, we're not about being committed and stuff, he's just trying to transition, and he saw that Alli is his match..he realized this and tried to make amends. The labeling at the end was an awesome touch and a call back to how he kept barking about Alli's "labels".

I just hope that even if he defends Adam, he doesn't screw around with Alli's heart. Also, I didn't know that the episode was leaked. Looks like CTV and Teen Nick need to keep those episodes under lock and key and improve with their security.

From what Sav told Holly J., it made me think that they would be F.W.B. and then break off things once college comes around. The romance could last longer than the last few years at high school. With Drew, maybe he'll turn into a werewolf and take out those bullies. No, wait, wrong guy.

Now on to tonight's main event:
"Stronger, Part 1"
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010 @ 9 p.m. on TeenNick
Adam gets stressed out trying to keep secrets about himself after flirting with Bianca during and after class. Elsewhere, Anya predicts that her mother is having an affair but is later told family-shattering news. Dave tries to boost his grade but with disastrous results Add on Holly J., Sav and Anya teaming up on a group project with Drew defending his stepbrother and you have a heaping load of drama for your momma.
Apparently, I found that this episode has two titles. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've found this episode titled both "Stronger, Part 1" (TVGuide.com) and "My Body's a Cage, Part 1" (Wikipedia). Also note that TVGuide.com's episode description for tonight is incorrect since we already saw Connor's online girlfriend last night.
I wonder how the ratings will be affected with the episodes being leaked one by one? So far, all I can say is that what we saw in the commercials happened. Adam being thrown against the bathroom doors was unforgivable and was a hate crime. From a filmmaker's standpoint, I wonder how many takes it took to pull off the scene. Here's hoping that Mr. Simpson can sort out the situation besides Drew. I think that the actress Adam, so far, has been pretty good. I never knew that she came from another Canadian show that I couldn't bother being a fan of back when it was on Disney Channel with Charlotte Arnold's (Holly J.) Naturally Sadie. As for Anya, it looks like she was hit with the maternal drama bug that struck Clare with the possibility of her parents getting a divorce with the belief that her mother could have a terminal medical condition. Even with what she's done so far this season, I hope that she doesn't lose her. As for Bianca, she loves stirring up trouble in Degrassi. First Sav, now Adam. Who's next on her list?
As far as how the rest of the characters were handled, it looks like the obligatory Asian girl whose name I can't recall from last season returns. I felt that she had been useless and never well-developed as everyone else. I'm surprised that she didn't leave the show. As for Ms. Oh, man was she hot. Too bad that Dave couldn't melt her icy heart with his little project. Plus Ms. Oh should learn to keep her Facebook account set to 'Friends Only'. Funny how when watching the episode, I noticed that Dave's last name was Turner and he was sporting a pink shirt. How come he wasn't chosen to play the live-action Timmy Turner? We only have one new episode left to leave us begging for more.

^ The glass door breaking was actually an accident, it just happened during the take and they kept it in.
This episode was SOOOO good. You really begin to see the struggle of Adam between being Adam and Gracie. I really began to feel bad for him. I LOVE how supportive Drew is of Adam and he's adapted to calling Adam his brother and things like that. It sucks that he got his ass kicked but at least he stuck up for his brother.
Agh, Part 2 was also leaked today so I'm gonna really limit what I say regarding this lol.
Oh, and I'm depressed with the Anya storyline and the Dave/Ms. Oh storyline is cute. It'd be interesting to do a student/teacher storyline.

Adam tries to appease his family by going back to being Chelsea. Meanwhile, Connor is shocked when he meets his online gaming rival in person; and pressure gets the best of Anya, but it has nothing to do with her group project. -TVGuide.com

I had already said that TVGuide.com's information about tonight's episode was incorrect so we will have to recreate them based from the information given to us by the episodes. Connor's online girlfriend was shown on Tuesday night and Adam's other self is Gracie, not Chelsea. I don't know how the site's doing so badly with the episode descriptions. Whoever made them should had been better informed by CTV and Teen Nick.
Also, Adam/Gracie's my favorite character of this season. Kudos to the character's actress for her performance.

Well no, it's odd. They call Adam's female half as Gracie AND as Chelsea. Maybe it's a middle name.

I'll stick with calling our favorite FTM as both Adam and Gracie. With the promo advertising the episodes for next week, anyone's anticipating for what will happen once Jenna takes those weight loss pills?

Let's just hope that K.C. doesn't dump her because she didn't appreciate how she looked before taking the pills. I know that some people hate the character but they might have sympathy come next week. Once we get this plot point out of the way, we still have others that may/may not be on our minds in the coming weeks.
*Anya and her dealing with her mother recovering from her cancer treatment. I know that the doctor said that it was caught in time, but she'll still have to deal with chemo.
*Sav and Holly J's relationship: With Fiona and Declan having to butt in, from what I read, I wonder if it will be strong enough to last through the season.
*While we've seen more of Clare this season with Eli, I wonder if we'll have more romantic moments between them.
*This possible plot point could be incorrect but after seeing Adam keeping the picture of himself as Gracie after his dress was burnt, I thought that in the future, he could switch back to his other self. Then again, the picture could had been kept for the times before he cut himself dealing with being a guy trapped in a girl's body. Who knows?
Am I missing anything?
Only two weeks left until Degrassi reach the Boiling Point.

I hope that Eli doesn't do anything too serious to ruin his rep by trying to prevent Fitz to cause any harm to Clare. Then again, he could be the one holding the knife at the episode preview from tonight and last week. I know that Clare's been the Christian girl since Season 8 but leave her be. Sure she might had irked me a few times, but she wasn't as bad as Adam who decided to be friends with his mortal enemy because Clare took his best friend away. I would be happy if a friend of mine scored someone to love and I would expect the same from him when I found someone to love. I also know that Eli haven't gotten over his deceased ex-girlfriend but maybe preventing Clare from being emotionally and physically harmed will change all of that.
Focusing on Drew, just let him go with Bianca already. If he wants to continue to fail his classes just because he can;t be happy with Alli and having to ditch her to get with some Puerto Rican hotness, then you're not deserving for anyone's love.
As for everyone else: does anyone care? We know that Sav and Holly J are F.W.B.s and will show how "close" they are tomorrow night. Fiona received the strength to finally testify against Bobby with Toni Stark as one of the defense attorneys. Lame tie-in joke with our famed Iron Man by the way writers of Degrassi. Also, while some people may not care for Jenna, at least she's not going to let K.C. not taking part with taking care with her baby get the best of her and ruin the night.

Well this episode was something. I feel bad for pretty much all of the girls but Drew defended Alli from being raped. Jenna was nowhere to be found. Holly J got caught giving Sav a show he would never receive from Anya any day of the week, and Clare began the lockdown seeing that Fitz had a knife and predicted that it would be used to harmed Eli. So many events in 24 episodes. I don't think the rest of the season will be as good as these episodes were hyped up to be. I thought Eli would get hurt by Fitz and he survives. No one died. This must be a first.

^ I thought they were gonna pull a Sean/Rick stunt or a simple JT stunt but no one got harmed. This was a okay episode, I'm still not liking the Sav/Holly J relationship and this episode made me wanna go to sleep at that striptease scene. That scene with Fitz, Eli, and Clare was intense. I thought Eli was stabbed. Oh well.
Looks like Degrassi students will be wearing uniforms according to the season 10 preview. I think I'm more excited for next season than this season. Was that Clare with that goth hairstyle and was Dave holding up a gun? I need to see that again.

I agree with you. I want to see the trailer again. Curse you speedy sequence of intense scenes to make us wait for October! The gun Dave held didn't look like any armed weapon I've seen before. Clare as a goth? Who's she's trying to impress? Not Eli since he liked her the way she was when they first laid eyes on each other. And Clare and Alli having an emotional cry together? They haven't been best buds since, what, Season 8/9?
Plus, I bet some Fiona fans were disappointed for not seeing her tonight. I think she looked better in a corset Tuesday night. Technically, I couldn't even see what Holly J. was wearing. Any bets that Sav and Holly J. will hit a rough patch by the end of this season?

* Dave might be holding a taser (?)
* Clare goes for a goth look that is SOOOO not like her. I dug her change in clothing styles from Seasons 8-this season
*Cue "dum-dum-Duuuuum" music for Declan coming back for Holly J. in a quick creepy scene.
*I guess Eli's not digging his uniform with the shocked expression while papers fell from his hands.
*I'm guessing Alli's leaving Degrassi since it sounded like her voice before the announcer returned.

Yeah, I was shocked about that one and the people behind Dave were not even running away...
I'm glad Declan is coming back so he can end that stupid relationship between Holly J and Sav.
Eli is probably frustrated about his school life and how everything changed, even his girlfriend Clare.
Yeah, people on YouTube keep on saying that it's Leia. Leia doesn't even have the attention for people to care about her leaving, the worst that can happen to her is if she just fades away. It's probably Alli.
EDIT: I saw the promo again and it did sound like Leia.

Yes, that scene had my heart racing. Very intense moment. Reminded me of when J.T. got stabbed, though he ended up dying unlike Eli (thank goodness he’s OK, he’s one of my favorite new characters).
Overall, this was a very fun 6 weeks. Those 24 episodes seemed to just fly by though. I’m going to guess that Degrassi will get back to regular weekly new episodes when it returns, since there is no special “tag line” like these 24 episodes had, plus October is usually when all the “normal” seasons have started anyway. Also, 24 episodes is a normal Degrassi season, anyway.
