I pray to god that someone from CARTOON NETWORK reads my feelings towards this years "JUNE BUGS".

It is a sad day for us die-hard toon heads(such as myself) about how (CN President) BETTY COHEN decided to yank 12 BB cartoons at the very last minute so that nobody would be offended by some of the PIC cartoons.Time Warner had no problem with CN showing the controversial BB cartoons during the late night viewing hours, and TW left it up to Cohen, and she did not want to take any kind of chance of showing these classic cartoons towards any viewers.CARTOON NETWORK will NOT, and I repeat will NOT, make televison history on June 1st as they been bragging for the last year, and I was the first person to post last April that CN would be showing EVERY single BB cartoon ever made, and I said let see if CN holds true to their promise...Guess I was wrong. What I can't understand is, that since CN will not be presenting the 12 BB cartoons during the late night hours at all, and they are going to present the special TOON HEADS war time cartoons in July during the prime time schedule????this doesn't make any kind of sense to me, HECK, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if CN chickens out on that one too and does not show that one either.
CARTOON NETWORK should be ashmed of themselves by lying to their tv audience by saying that "We will show every single Bugs Bunny Cartoon ever made", what a bunch of crap this channel is, and have they ever got a complaint from viewers regrading "THE BOB CLAMPETT SHOW" which shows uncut cartoons during the early evening hours which features ethnic stereotype gags left in the cartoons? I wonder....Hummmm
I plan on e-mailing CN and tell them how I feel about this big mistake their making in which they will not make tv history...
Thats all I got to say

I don't think praying to God will help much in this matter. I think there are people at Cartoon Network and Warner Brothers who wouldn't mind these cartoons being played but what's more important than them getting onto CN is their release on DVD. Don't have a DVD player yet? You might someday! Have all the cartoons on video? What will their quality be like in 20 years?

What needs to be done is folks who want these cartoons released need to put pressure on the execs in charge. A letter writing campaign is in order. People who have Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes websites should devote a page to the cause so people can know what to do.

I'm going to be writing them myself and not just once but i'll write again and again and again. What I'm asking for, what I'd like to see, is the release of the ENTIRE Bugs Bunny collection on DVD. I'll also mention I'd like to see other collections to follow: Elmer, Daffy, etc and ULTIMATELY they'd put all the Looney Tunes on DVD in different volumes. I will mention my unhappiness with the Censored 12 not appearing on June Bugs and why they SHOULD not be left to rot, but should be included on the DVDs. Heck, they can put a small disclaimer on the packaging. The # of people who will buy the DVDs to see the "controversial" cartoons will be greater than the # of people who wouldn't buy them because they might think it would be supporting racism/discrimination/whatever.

Another thing to maybe mention but really isn't as important is the extras they can add to the DVDs such as behind the scenes documentary type stuff including interviews with Mel Blanc, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Robert McKimson, Friz Freleng, Chuck Jones, Carl Stalling, etc.

All this will get done a lot easier and sooner if folks get involved and voice their opinions to WB and not just on internet message boards. Spend a few bucks on stamps and envelopes and a pen if you don't have one 'cause all you do is type email! Even if you don't have a DVD player yet i say you should still get involved. The entire Bugs Bunny collection on DVD would be an amazing thing to have. Other collections and ultimately all Looney Tunes would be a goldmine. It won't happen by itself.
