Yeah, that did hit me right here too. It was really sad to see him go, but the way in which the writers handled it made his death a good thing. That didn't come out exactly right, but the impact felt by both the viewers and the citizens of Metropolis added to the show.

I just sat there with my mouth wide open. I couldnt believe they had to guts to do that!!! All the Darkseid action in STAS bumped it up from a "Cool cartoon" to one of my all time favorite shows ever. This show is the reason I like Superman, and stuff like that is what did it for me. Until STAS I'd always seen Supes as this ultra powerful being who just turned back time by reversing the planets rotation when tragedy struck. But when Turpin was flash fried and Superman charges Darkseid only to just miss the Boom Tube and then is powerless to do anything but smash that tank... wow that did it for me. Superman rocks.

When Darkseid Omega'd Turpin, my jaw dropped in astonishment. When Superman took his frustration out on the tank, it choked me up. And Superman's last words to Turpin, "In the end the world didn't need a Superman, just a brave one," it nearly brought a tear to my eye. While BTAS as a whole is better than STAS hands down, I've always thought STAS epiosdes like ANpt2 and Legacy had an emotional punch that no BTAS episode matched (except maybe the end of Growing Pains).

Yes, when I saw what happened to Turpin, I sat with my eyes glued to the T.V., stunned. And Supes reaction to it all...whoa. That scene has to be one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching scenes in S:TAS and B:TAS history. It was moments like these in S:TAS that made Supes my favorite instead of Batman.

I was shocked...I can't remember if I cried...but I know I was sad...it was like they killed Jack Kirby. Every time I watch it...I still get sad.
