I kid you not, here in the UK for the easter holidays Boomerang will be airing a 96 hour Looney Tunes marathon starting tonight at midnight.

Theres no news on the Sky guide to what will air but on the advert for this event, the speak over says 280 premiere's.

Now I'm gonna try and watch most of it and what I can't watch I will try and put a video on before I fall alsleep(I may just leave my TV on all night).

This couldn't be a better birthday/Easter present for me(My birthday being sunday!!!).

And don't worry if anything really shocking is aired(Bosko, censored 11 ect) then I will make sure I post it.

Now just to make some coffee!! :bosko:

They did something similar for Easter a few years ago on "The Family Channel." They aired "Bugs Bunny's 1001 Rabbit Tales," and right after that was "Friz Frelengs Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie."

I posted this information a long while back in this thread, called 'Looney Tunes Weekend In England'

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24801

And it's starting at 6am so I thought today that I'll list the contents of the first few hours.

Here are the first few cartoons to give you an idea of the marathons contents. Cartoons marked with an exclamation mark are what I think are surprising.
(BTW they mistakenly showed a ‘next’ logo for The Moomins at 5.58am) There is a ‘Looney Tunes weekend’ logo in the bottom left hand corner. Also? Adverts. :( )

Mad As A Mars Hare (1963)
Water, Water Every Hare (1950)
Too Hop To Handle (1955)
Hip-Hip-Hurry! (1958)
Muscle Tussle (1952)
A Bird In A Bonnet (1958)
Deduce, You Say (1956)
Hare-abian Nights (1958)
Barbary Coast Bunny (1956)
The Astroduck (1965) (! These Daffy/Speedys never get played in the UK)
A Bird In A Bonnet (1958) (! AGAIN? It's only been 1 1/2 hours! )
Beep Beep (1951)
Bell Hoppy (1953)
Bonanza Bunny (1959)

Well apart from The Astroduck is doesn’t look like this marathon is getting any better. Oh well.

I don't know who is in charge of Boomerang UK, but I wish he would give the guy over here some pointers. The only thing Boomerang ever shows is the HB cartoons, and sometimes a LT. Yall get a 96 hour marathon and Peanuts and some other shows that are not LT or HB.

Ok so I've been dipping in and out of the marathon during the day(I also watch Buffy at the same time over on Sky One).

I'm quite disapointed so far, all I've seen are cartoons from the 50's and 60's apart from at around 10:30 I saw "Porky In WackyLand" the colour version mind you.

I'll try and stay up late tonight (12-5) because they may show some good un-pc and black and white cartoon's(hopefully).

How did this thing turn out?
Show anything of particular interest or new on your side of the pond?

Well, they did show the non-time compressed version of 'Dough For The Do Do' at about 10.30 but I went on holiday after that. And then they showed the Time Compressed version of 'Fast and Furryous'-which is strange, because they showed the non-time comnpressed version in the recent Chuck Jones celebration. Oh yes- I have also seen 'Mississippi Hare' 'Southern Fried Rabbit' and 'The Mouse That Jack Built' uncut over the past 3 days.

What would they cut from The Mouse That Jack Built?

Ok,it's not that rare but I liked the fact it had a Rochester mouse in.
