I've started doing reports again for www.2xzone.com (http://www.2xzone.com), so I watched the show tonight.

What worked:

Backstage seg with Kazarian & AJ Styles when Styles showed off his new action figure. Kaz telling AJ to "go play with yourself" might be a problem with the morality police because of the double entendre involved, but this was  city.

Jay Lethal beating Kazarian. Ric Flair is having a hard time solidifying his new group. Fortune? Uh, does Time Warner know about this, since it's also one of their magazines? Nice to see Lethal lose the Macho Man mimic.

Abyss turning heel and telling Hulk Hogan "they" made him do it. "They" has to be Raven and the ex-ECW group. Just a few months ago, Raven & Stevie Richards were feuding with Abyss. Now, they want to be pals? No wonder they want Heyman. He can make more sense of this than Russo and his high school-level writing methods. Abyss disposing of Jeff Hardy & Ken Anderson on consecutive weeks doesn't really make him a big threat. Yet.

Kurt Angle over Desmond Wolfe. Best match on the show, tied with Kaz-Lethal. Now, Chelsea's begging to be turned full face. Watch. She'll get stuck with someone like Brian Kendrick, who's suddenly a pseudo-Zen master or something.

What didn't work:

Women's match.   ! 2 weeks, 2 DQs for Angelina Love. This is not how you make a run to the women's title when your former partners are suddenly jobophobic.

Beer Money vs. Ink Inc. Unimpressive, and spitting beer in your opponent's face isn't that effective in reality.

Desmond Wolfe loses again, what a suprise .

TNA was eh last night nothing really big. When Abyss kept referring to "they" I was hoping it would be James Mitchell returning with his team of The New Church or The Gathering, but seeing Raven and Dr. Stevie there I'm guessing that they are the they Abyss is referring to.

I kinda wish they would finish the feud with Jeff Jarrett/Sting and Douglas Williams/Brian Kendrick because they both suck. Douglas is actually not doing a bad job, but I'm sure someone else like Amazing Red were feuding with Williams it would be better. But the other three guys, man their current attitude's really suck.

What about the straight edge society

I don’t know if we have any wrestling fans that are also 24 fans, but whenever I hear “Who is ‘they’?” I am reminded of a preview for the next episode where Bill Buchanan asks that question of a CTU worker they have just caught. I don’t remember what season, but the guy was not quite a mole, he was working for someone outside of CTU, iirc.

That being said, I don’t mind Abyss adding this mystery of who is “they” because it means Evad/Eugene Abyss is gone. Plus, the WWE Hall of Fame ring is now gone as a plot device.

Kind of predictable what Angelina Love did to Velvet Skye after what happened last week and when Mike Posey didn’t get in there to get that chair out of the ring. Madison Rayne didn’t seem very scared.

I don’t imagine many tears will be shed over Kevin Nash and Eric Young splitting up. Not sure what either of them are going to do by themselves though. I imagine Eric will ‘survive’ but he lost his hero cred with joined Nash & Hall and World Elite was quietly disbanded soon after Hogan & Bischoff arrived.

I hope Matt Morgan and Hernandez are done after Victory Road. I like Morgan (or at least I thought I did), but I’m getting tired of him.

Not a bad plan by Flair to got after Jay Lethal’s brother while he was in the ring with Kazarian. I usually expect those things to be shown on the Tron, but obviously that wasn’t the case here.

I can fully understand Jeff Jarrett giving chase to a fake Sting up in the rafters, but when he got closer to the guy in the face paint, he should have been able to tell. I’d tell you to ask me if I care about Sting and Jeff Jarrett, but I don’t even care enough to respond “no” to someone asking the question.

That Bound for Glory promo was really neat. The whole 10.10.10 thing was a clever move on TNA’s part. I was thinking though, is there a reason this event in TNA’s WrestleMania? WrestleMania and Starrcade held that status because they were the first ones for their companies, but that is not the case here.

I guess it would take Angle too long to work his way up through the rankings on PPV so he beats Wolfe on a Thursday. Wolfe’s reaction to Chelsea is why Jesse Ventura used to say women belong in the back.

Well, maybe Brian Kendrick will be the savior of the X Division. I just want the belt off of Williams.

Brother Ray needs to reel it in. I’m not surprised, but he’s taken this whole thing with Jesse Neal way to personally. Devon obviously agrees.

It didn’t give Ink Inc. much of a chance against Beer Money though. Either way I wanted Shelley & Sabin to win, but Moore & Neal would have been something different. The Guns were great on commentary though. I have actually seen “the 2001 TV movie of the same name (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259882/).” It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t really all that great.

Is Dixie’s big surprise that is going to develop over time and not one thing some sort of ECW faction with Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards & Raven among others? I understand the argument that TNA needs some established names to generate greater interest, but these guys aren’t the ones to do it. Unless someone who would have a better offer in WWE jumps ship, I don’t see there being anyone to really bring people in. TNA’s ‘one-point something’ ratings represent the core group of wrestling fans that will watch just about anything. There are no ECW guys that are going to bring them to a 2.0 on a weekly basis. Plus ‘The Band’ should have shown that this level of nostalgia is dead. Granted, most of the ECW guys are in the 40s as opposed to The Outsiders who are in their 50s, but I think the same principle still applies.

Where the heck was RVD when Anderson was getting beat on? He was pretty quick to help Van Dam earlier. Hulk Hogan and the writers need to make a decision on what his role is. He can’t hit Abyss with a chair and then have security protecting him.

Beer Money vs. Ink Inc. Unimpressive, and spitting beer in your opponent's face isn't that effective in reality. If someone spits liquid in your face, you'll close your eyes and be disorientated for at least a second. It's no green mist, but that's all it takes.

Man the TNA main event scene is horrendous yet again. X division still pretty much non-existent and a non-factor.

Samoa Joe has absolutely nothing to do.

Penguin: The fact that the Guns would even mention an Artie Lange film of any kind (he was in "Beer Money") is surreal. There was a reason it was a box office dud.

As I noted before, Abyss' heel turn and "they" are just too obvious to merit a swerve. Raven, Richards, & Dreamer (there's an odd trio to be together) showing up during a different segment altogether (Ink Inc. v. Beer Money Inc.) was a transparent attempt to hide the obvious. More proof that Russo is on fumes as a writer right now. He knows it, that's why he wants out of creative, which would actually represent the smartest career move he's made in 10 years.

It'd be nice if Jim Mitchell came back, but apparently there's too much water under the bridge there.

Samoa Joe has absolutely nothing to do.

I really HATE the way they're misusing him (or should I say, not using him at all). That's one of the few complaints I have about TNA right now. Otherwise I'm enjoying it more than the WWE.

I love the Abyss heel turn, the Angle climb through the ranks, and the Anderson and Lethal pushes. I'm sure they'll put Samoa Joe back into the mix at some point. They'd be idiotic not to considering how he's one of the most over and talented guys on the roster.

TNA has been nothing but idiotic for several years.
