Comic Book Guy's Real Name
Wednesday, March 27, 2002 - 6:30 PM EST
Thanks to Matty for the below information. Keep in mind that CBG's name hasn't actually been mentioned on The Simpsons and for all we know it may never be heard or seen in an episode, so take this for what it's worth.

Matt Groening says CBG's name is Louis Lane in 'Wizard Magazine'

In DABF13 - I am Furious Yellow, Stan Lee tries to bully the kids in Androids Dungeon into buying only Marvel stuff.

"I Am Furious Yellow" airs on April 21st. Click here for information on it and other Season 13 episodes.

Shouldn't it air on Sunday?

April 21st is a Sunday. The following Tuesday is April 23rd (a day all Batman fans here know all about). I figured they would hold this episode for sweeps. Then again, a show where a comic creator guest stars likely won't pull in mammoth ratings...

Wow, I hope I don't forget to watch this. I have dismissed the past two seasons of the Simpsons so I may forget entirely about this episode, but I would actually like to see it.

I never Dismiss the simpsons. It's a part of our television heritage, just as much as I Love Lucy is!

I can see what he's saying about the last 2 years. Anymore they have totally far out adventures and it's getting like South Park's Kenny. Remember when Homer lost his finger? It's back. I wouldn't want Home to be without it, I'm just saying. Then there was the one where the farm animals were going crazy.

You must have not watched the whole episode. One of the mobsters sewed it back on for Lisa's Show-N-Tell at the end.

I love the Simpsons, but any time I watched a random episode in the past couple years, I've been disappointed and left more with a feeling of how do I get back that half hour in my life rather than feeling like I watched a great show, as I once did feel when I watched them. Sorry, but the Simpsons jumped the shark, and I think it mainly started happening when celebrities stopped playing other characters and started to appear as themselves every week.

Geez, it's just a show--- not 30 minutes closer to your DEATH.

Also-- it's not an argument over "Simpsons Sucks--- a waste of my life--- this is why I think so". All I was saying that they got Stan Lee and the Comic book Guy--- it's like a legendary moment here and I thought people would like to know.

oh yeah--- as long as we're not in Mr. Delaney's way, and on the subject of comic books and cartoons... VOTE HARLEY QUINN AND POISON IVY !

Hey, I know what you were saying, but I thought I should just clarify myself a tad. Didn't mean to offend any fans of the current run of episodes.

I love the show, but I wish Fox would air some newer episodes instead of the same ones over and over during the week.

its just a somewhat random selection of the past decade of The Simpsons that go on weekly. Sometimes I see early stuff and sometimes I see stuff that was on last season--- it's just odd.

Some episodes we see during holidays--- like the treehouse of terror play around Halloween... and the christmas one plays around Christmas.

One episode I do so adore and I doubt we'll ever see on TV again is the one where Barney borrows the car and leaves it parked at 1 World Trade Center. It's an excellent episode--- and I love how the two guys bicker across the space between the towers, but It's probabaly a touchy thing they wont play. Just like the episode of Men In Black thats a parody of 'Cops'. Drekk kidnaps Agent X while the TV crew is there, and holds him hostage on the Trade towers. Agent J, the TV ham, manages to botch the rescue mission but in the end they save the day and J calls it 'operation 911' (9/11) which was kinda eerie. The episode also dealt with quite a bit of destruction around the city--- and Zed even says "We do not negotiate with terrorists" when Drekk dials up HQ on communicator. I never had that show but I am pretty sure we'll never see it again.

The closing credits for the simpsons with Sinatra's 'New York' get me every time :)

Yesterday they had a flashback episode of the simpsons from where Marge and Homer for married, so they're midway through their tapes of all the seasons I'd say.

It is just that I have seen a lot of the same regular episodes recently. Also, they have been airing the Treehouse of Horrors a lot too. They need to air something different
