Yup.
It, looks like they're trying to say Bruce is for Some reson out of his mind. Maybe, hugo Strange, Maybe that Lady who erases peoples minds in Robin #100.
Overall I hope he Pulverizes this fire guy.
I also re-read all of of Knightfall today. All I can say is Batman works hard, he was sick, and he took out soo many escaped convicts. Mr zsass, mad hatter, saved the mayor from a the flooded Tunnel, saved Comissioner Gordon, Stopped Poison Ivey and all her Zombies, Trogg, Zombie, and and the Falconer, Not in sequence but apparently he stopped Two Face, eventually stopped Firefly, Amygdala, He foiled Scarecrow and joker, but did not capture them.
2 things linger from reading the Paperback versions.
1-It seemed they added an extra part, where after the 1st book ends, IN theCAVE, where Batman is Broken, the next book starts with Bane and Batman in the City, on top of a Building, and Bane THROWS him off. I really DONT remember that happening in the original comic.
2- At least the right hand man of Bane(Bird) KNOWS that Batman is Bruce Wayne. What ever happened to his characrter? What if he's behind the Murderer plot.

I agree...hope he pulverizes Nicodemeus. I was a bit annoyed that this had the fugitive header on it...2.5 of the 22 pages dealt with Fugitive...Gotham Knights 27 had more to do with Fugitive and it did not have the header!?!.
For me it doesn't matter 'cause I buy everything anyway, but for someone who only wants just the "fugitive" stories...they are going to miss out on some great stuff!
I'm sticking to my guns...I think its Strange, although Luthor is a very good possibilty, or at least an interesting one!
Im really enjoying this whole fugitive deal. So is Nicodemus really a good addition to Bat's rogue gallery? Last issue I picked up was Robin #100 so Ive yet to see this guy. Ill tell you what I can't wait though, and thats this dying cop hiring Batman to solve the Thomas and Martha Wayne murder case. That should be pretty interesting if written right, which so far everything has been.

I can't wait for the Superman Batman book.
Um, Why is the Title not called Worlds Finest.

It was pretty good. Although, as said above, it should have dealt more with the Fugitive storyline, because it had the Fugitive banner.

I'm sure those moments in the Batcave with Alfred were the clues.
And is it just me or is Nicodemus just another run-of-the-mill badguy? "Watch out 'cause I'm gonna kill you all!!!!!" Yeah. We've heard that HOW MANY times before? I know the "clean-up Gotham" angle may seem new, but Nicolas Scratch was basically after the same thing during the Road to NML.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to that issue as well. As well as, the June issue of Batman that seems to continue on with that plot.

According the Mr. Loeb...DC has "been there and done that" so he wants to rename the series. They really cannot come up with a better name than "World's Finest", so they are tentatively calling it Superman & Batman.
The thing that is going to be really great about this series is that it will be in continuity! I really enjoyed The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, so I too am looking forward to this book!

It's good to have so many conflicting issues being address in this series. It's not like these guys have anything better to do then to prove Wayne's innocences, which these issues have show. I'm impressed at how well they're handeling this and not driving a single issue into the ground.

It's a good story line, but it seems more like a book end to the Batman mythos, if Batman solves the case that is. Interesting... It's always been in his charcter that the assailent was unidentified (well, forgetting the Burton crap)

this was a pretty good issue. I really hope they don't continue this whole "abondon Bruce identity" thing though. I mean, Batman has always been dark, but here lately he has made Joker and Two-face look close to sane.

Because after all, DC would be the last company to revisit something in the past :p

Who's doing the art?
Please let it be somebody cool.
Remeber when Kelly did Batman? I could hardly look at the book, it looked crazy. A real Turn off. What's grummet doing these Days, the Power Company?
I want this Worlds Finest book to Look Good. It basically is a Team up, of the best members of the JLA. The Best of the Brains and The Best of the Brawn.

Ed McGuiness. This book's gonna rule if that boy can stay on schedule.

Nicodemus is not just another run of the mill villain. His parents were "taken out and shot". Please, someone tell me you caught that. They weren't talking about Batman in the opening. That was Nicodemus's story.

Who do you all think is the person on the puzzle piece for this issue's fugitive clue? I was thinking Lex Luthor, but that was just a guess.

Well I had astack of Bruce Wayne: Murdere?/Fugitive comics as well as a few other new Bat titles sitting and waiting, because I was having trouble locating a Robin #99. I found a copy today andfinished reading them and "What the...?" Batman #601 has "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive part three " on the cover, yet on the inside it says "Turning the Town Red part one of two." I thought this was the concluding chapter, yet it's really just the start of an unrelated arc! Is the fugitive story still going? The comic book store clerk gave me a checklist and Batman #601 is the last on the list.

Batman 601 is part of the BW:F storyline, but it also is part one of a storyline with a new villain called Nicodemus(spelling?).

My advice, you want to really follow the Fugitive storyline, gonna have to buy all the Bat-books. Gotham Knights 27 is the perfect example. A must read in my opinion.
It will really be worth it, this is just such a great storyline. There has been so much conversation and so many wild theories from various people....this is what it's all about :D

I have some thoughts about all the puzzle pieces. Let's make it it's own thread.

A while back there was a Batman/Superman mini crossover in Detective and Superman. He drew a good Batman then. Not sure what the issues were...anyone know?

Superman #168 & Detective Comics #756 ;)

SUPERMAN #168 was INCREDIBLE. MC2's Batman is a perfect blend of the animated series work and mainstream comics (same could be said about his Superman). Wouldn't recommend 'Tec 756 because of the art. But since you absolutely must get SUPERMAN 168, you might as well buy the 'Tec ish, too.
