Vampires and telepaths and werewolves, oh my!
There were too many priceless moments in this episode. "Conscience off, <male anatomy part> on." Oh, Andy and Jason. "Meet my new dancer." "You've been doing that for six hours?"
I really hate Eric >.> He's so much fun not to like, though. Pam, on the other hand, is pure awesome. "Maybe I wear too much pink. And I am not a hooker. That was a long, long, long time ago."
Sam and Bill *ahem*
Lots of plot points going on and yet there were all engaging and not detracting from one another. That's pretty impressive.
Oh True Blood, I missed you~
Why is the Vampire Queen of Louisiana afraid of that magistrate guy?, shes a Queen, whats that guy going to do?, he acts like hes the vampire pope or something. This show seriously needs to explain the vampire hierarchy in detail. Speaking of that, what the hell is the freaking IRS supposed to do to her? lol, when i heard she say that she was selling V cause they were on her back i just laughed.
I love the fact that the Werewolves are just guys who turn into wolves and not some weird wolf-man hybrid thing, ive never seen that, and its awesome. Though i thats the case then i just cant help but think that its pointless, shifters like Sam can turn to wolves and pretty much anything else. So whats the point of just having guys who just turn into wolves?
Tara's mom is just meant to forever be a loser isn't she...

Why is the Vampire Queen of Louisiana afraid of that magistrate guy?, shes a Queen, whats that guy going to do?, he acts like hes the vampire pope or something. This show seriously needs to explain the vampire hierarchy in detail. My impression is that the Magistrate exists outside, above even, the vampire hierarchy because he is the vampire law. Even royalty needs to be held accountable by the law, so there needs to be a judge above even them. Otherwise the kings and queens could easily take advantage of their status--checks and balances, vamp style.
Speaking of that, what the hell is the freaking IRS supposed to do to her? lol, when i heard she say that she was selling V cause they were on her back i just laughed. That, I assumed had to do with the fact that vampires are trying to integrate into society. Whether they like it or not, the overall choice to "come out of the coffin" meant they have to follow the laws of the society they're trying to join. How are they supposed to call themselves legit members of society and demand civil rights if they can't even be monetarily held accountable? *shrug* It didn't seem so odd to me, anyway.

First of all, True Blood has already been renewed for a fourth season (http://true-blood.net/2010/06/21/hbo-officially-renews-true-blood-for-season-4/). Two episodes into season 3. Good times still to come in Bon Temps.
As for episode 2--awesome. Looking back, it seems like the show is going in so many directions, yet while I'm watching, it never seems disjointed or that it jumps around. With all the storylines working this season, that's a definite plus.
Loved the scenes with the King of Mississippi, his lover, and Bill--and all the blood courses. "Excuse me, I need to drain the next course." Lorena's appearance was rather startling (though makes sense considering Club Dead) and I'm betting Bill imagined throwing the lamp at her.
Oh Eric, how I love to hate you. I burst out laughing at his line about protecting Sookie, having primal, intense sex with her... or both XD
Major props to Lafayette for looking after Tara--and telling off her mother. I love him.
They went to Hotshot and Calvin Norris appeared ^__^
And finally, Franklin Mott = drop dead (haha, because he's dead) gorgeous.
And finally, Franklin Mott = drop dead (haha, because he's dead) gorgeous.Yeah im sorry, but im never going to be able to take this guy seriously the way hes portrayed after watching that same actor play Thomas Cromwell on the Tudors, he just looks so weird to me from the moment he appeared, i was like "hes too old to be dressing this way", he looks like a freak to me. Though if i hadn't seen him on the Tudors i probably wouldn't have reacted this way (Cromwell my fav character on that show), it will definitely take some time for me to get use to him acting so... the way hes acting on this show.
Speaking of which, the royalty in the vampire universe totally do not act they are Royal in the least, this Mississippi guy takes the cake.
Also, Blood Gelatin, dude!!!

Well now, that was interesting. The return of the sexcapades (wow, Pam and the dancer)... and some sexy men to boot (cough). I'll take it >.>
I squee'd when Alcide appeared. I'm a fan of his from the books so was excited to finally see him (and hear how his name is supposed to be pronounced at long last :p).
Franklin is definitely up to something... or many somethings. Tara's in trooouble with him, for sure.
I thought for sure Bill had imagined throwing the lamp at Lorena, so color me surprised when it turned out he had actually done it. Hate, hate, hate that woman. The flashback to Bill returning to his wife and dead son was really sad.
And the final scene... Oh. Em. Gee. I heard it was going to be a scene to be talked about, but wow.

Episode 3.04: "9 Crimes"
Dude, i thought that whole Bill renouncing the kingdom of Mississippi was just for show, but he totally snitched on the queen and Eric's blood selling, totally not cool. I cant help but fear that Lafayette is gong to get killed over this... somehow.

Okay, I fell behind weeks ago so just marathoned episodes 4-11. Not sure where to begin other than I'm surprised Sookie's fae blood was established this early on--it doesn't come to light until a much later book. I don't feel like Crystal was introduced this early on either, but I could be wrong. But hey, for whatever reason, True Blood's major divergences from the books don't seem to bother me like I'd expect them to.
One thing that does bother me, though, is the series' portrayal of Calvin Norris. He's quite likeable in the books but is a redneck jackass in the show. I miss good Calvin.
Russell is fracking insane. Obviously he's unstable but after Talbot's death... yikes. What's happened with Sophie-Anne since moving in with Russell or did I miss something in my haste to watch all the episodes I had stockpiled?
I miss Alcide since he left. I was always rather fond of him in the books.
I'm still rather stunned after watching 8 episodes in a row--so much going on that it's hard to know what to comment on. This is the problem with falling behind and having to play catchup
Can't wait to see what gets resolved in the finale. Insaaaaanity.

Already knew about Bill's motives from the books (I'm still pro-Bill ten books in, thankyouverymuch), though him turning on Eric startled me. I also foresee Russell finding a way out of his concrete next season and causing problems for everyone. And I'm guessing next season will mark the brief Sookie/Alcide romance.

!!??, how was the plot changed from the way it went down in the books exactly? That just straight up never happened. Bill also never tried to kill Sophie-Anne (and she's not nearly as annoying in the books). True Blood is a very loose adaptation of the books. Most of the Russell Edgington plot? Show only. Calvin Norris is awesome in the books and Sookie becomes friends with him--True Blood version is a redneck and gets shot in the face. Godric isn't Eric's maker. Sookie's fae blood also isn't introduced this early on... as well as many, many other changes.
I need to do a reread just to remember the actual canon of the story =X
