Oh man! Not Uncle Milty too! :(

I was watching the news tonight and Brian Williams said that Milton Berle died of colon cancer at 93 years old. There's no full story yet, but there's a news bulltein on MSNBC.com

Awwww, man! Ya gotta hate that. I was hoping he'd hit 100. I once saw him perform at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, AL. Man, was he funny! Ah well, so much for the golden age of clean comedy. Bye, Uncle Miltie!

My favorite Milton Berle joke (at the Galleria):

"I was back there a little while ago, eating at a Taco Bell. The waiter must have known my religious affiliation, because he kept saying: " 'D'jew wanna 'nother taco? 'D'jew wanna 'nother burrito?"

::sigh::

What makes this all the more saddening is that no one seems to be following in the footsteps of people like Milton Berle.

Thanks for the laughs, Uncle Milty.

This is really going to sound bad, but I thought he was already dead! :o

I just went on a "Dammit!" rampage through my house. Sheesh...I really liked that guy. Can anyone else sense a "Dead guy Avatar Contest" Happening again? Happened when The Tick was cancelled...

....one of the few old guys who could put on a dress and make it funny, not sick, sad, and creepy. Bob Hope, 99, said of "Uncle Milty" that he was the only man who could call him "kid". I heard the news from my mother, who was reading the news ticker at the bottom of the screen during Howard Stern's show...strangely appropriate, as Stern used to talk about Berle having the largest John Thomas in Hollywood. That I don't know for sure--or want to--but coming on the heels of Dudley Moore's passing, and Chuck Jones' mere weeks ago, it's especially shaking.
:( :mad: :confused:
