For me, this film doesn't deserve the high precentage on Rottentomatoes.com but I understand what the audience needed in a dry summer. With the other titles released this week, there was nothing I wanted to see but after checking out an advance screening of Get Him to the Greek, I'll say that while I laughed at a few portions of the film, I have to say that this film could had received the PG-13 rating because, while I can accept profanity in other films, people were cursing for the sake of cursing. I can see this film having most of its life being edited out once it hits E! Entertainment by 2012 because of this. Also, seeing Jonah Hill working for a music label made me think that Michael Cera would had played his part to a 'T' but then we have another Universal Pictures film, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World that'll break him out from being the meek, shy kid who ends up with the girl but being a guy who doesn't have an idea about relationships and commitment but fighting for someone he loves as well as being the meek, shy guy we've grew to love and hate. Russell Brand was okay and had no problems with him except that in a few scenes, I could barely make out what he was saying. P. Diddy had me laughing but yeah, I'll bring up this up again, he, in some portions of his dialogue was cursing for the sake of cursing. As for this film having connections with its predecessor, I'll say this:
It was a complete waste of time seeing what was pretty much a few seconds of a scene leading to the intro of Sarah Marshall's (Kristen Bell) soap opera hospital show. I think Bell's scoring two for two for films where some members of the general audience feel like she's wasting her talent. Not even in 2009's Astro Boy was she used to her full potential. Well now we know that a Veronica Mars film is no longer going to happen and we have You Again to see if Bell can land in a good comedy.
The film is worth a rent but if you had no interest in this spin-off, unless you're crazy about Splice just like Moviebob here (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/1762-Splice), then there's really, in my opinion, nothing good in theaters this weekend. Hope the next two weekends will be better especially with June 30th coming around the corner.

Here's the thing that really confuses me about this. Russell Brand played Aldous Snow in Forgetting Veronica Mar- Uh, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Jonah Hill was in that as a relatively major character. Russell Brand plays Aldous Snow in Get Him to the Greek. Jonah Hill is in that, but as a completely different character who just happens to look exactly like his other character.

I think it's clear to say that we should forget about the Jonah Hill from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and focus on the one we have in this film. Maybe it could be that the Jonah Hill from FSM is having a dream about being with Aldous Snow or this film is set in an alternate universe with a nod to the Sarah Marshall character in good favor.

I really doubt that dream scenario is what they intended.
And with some actors this wouldn't be a problem. They can take on other personas in different films or even within the same movie. But Jonah Hill, he, he's not exactly the man of 1000 faces, you know. He's pretty much always Jonah Hill in every movie.

So essentially he's a bigger Michael Cera.

Or a younger Seth Rogen. Really, most comedic actors nowadays aren't what I'd call versatile.

Younger, a little bit weirder Seth Rogen is more like it. His schtick is different than Cera's cute Woody Allen-lite schtick, he depends more on strangeness and he's less of a straight man. He's a funny guy, just far from a chameleon.
