With the ratings success of last Sunday's special "Toonheads -- The Wartime Cartoons" I wonder if Cartoon Network would be willing to roll out a sequel to the show.
Of course there isn't any other Avery war toon they could air, and they're definitely not going to show "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips," but there are enough other World War II Warner Bros. cartoons like "Plane Daffy," "Daffy the Commando," "Confessions of a Nutzy Spy," "The Ducktators," that they could get by with airing, along with at least a couple of Popeyes, "Spinach for Britain" and "Seein' Red, White and Blue."
I'm sure if they only wanted to air for toons in a 60-minute show again, there's still enough other material around so that Jerry Beck and some of the other people involved could fill out a second show (I perosnally would like them to include the reputed story of why there are no more Avery anti-Hitler World War II cartoons -- because Fred Quimby told Tex "We're not sure who's going to win the war" -- but I doubt that one would ever make it on the air).

Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips
Daffy: The Commando
Plane Daffy
The Ducktators

Booby Traps (Snafu)
Clips from...
Confusions Of a Nutzy Spy
Crazy Cruise (Jap gag)
Nutty News (Hitler gag)
Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs (War references)
5th Column Mouse
I'd like to see some other specials...
Toonheads: Shhhh! Silent cartoons
Little Nemo
Gertie The Dinosaur
Felix In Hollywood
Humorous Phases Of Funny Faces
Clips from other silent masterpieces
Toonheads: In the 3rd dimention!
Lumber Jack-Rabbit (in 3-D)
Popeye, Ace of Space (in 3-D)
Boo Moon (in 3-D)
Melody (It's a Disney cartoon, but it's a possability...)

I doubt it. Those cartoons are so outdated. I would love to see that special (with Plane Daffy included as a full cartoon), but I think even a Speedy Gonzales marathon is as likely as that.
On a similar note, just because June Bugs got high ratings doesn't mean next year's will be equally good.

They could probably get rights to the Woody Woodpecker cartoon, "The Hypnotic Hick", which was produced in 3-D, more easily, if Universal would let them.

It'd really blow folks' minds if scenes from the only two 3-D Three Stooges shorts, "Spooks" and "Pardon My Backfire", appeared on Toonheads. Of course it'd have to be mentioned how Jack Warner shut down the studio for the first time in a panic over the new technology....

Well the ball is in Cartoon Network's court right now, and I do believe that there will be more upcoming TOOHEADS specials, but if CN wants to continue to have major huge ratings for politically cartoons, they should start immediately making new episodes or do a weekly late night showcase for these cartoons, like say, an hour length show?
It's pretty obvious right now that Cartoon Network knows they have a huge audience for these cartoons, and they SHOULD do something about it.Just imagine if CN showed the the censored 12 Bugs Bunny cartoons during "JUNE BUGS" and how bigger(which drew a 1.6 rating) those ratings would have been.
I think that the tunnel may look a little brighter for all of us for wanting to see these PIC cartoons on CN...You may never know???

I thought why not do a weekly or maybe monthly series of WWII cartoons. I enjoyed the special very much. However, I wish Popeye had been shown as well. I expected to see his WWII cartoons as well.

You just might get your wish.
I printed a June 29th LA Times article today about missing Bugs Bunny cartoons being shown "in context". The article does say that a special on those 12 missing Bugs Bunny Cartoons (incidentally, What's Cookin', Doc? was put in the marathon at the last minute from what I've heard) is expected to air sometime in the fall. So there is hope...do not despair.
As far as I'm concerned, CN got a good rating for June Bugs, but I can almost guarantee more than half the audience had no clue on all the edits in the cartoons that took place. CN may have been ecstatic about the rating, but remember...they cheated because there were cuts. If you're going to show a cartoon with cuts in it, don't show it at all!
As Frank Sinatra once said, "all...or nothing at all." We sure deserved better than what we got.
