XSEED Games has announced an agreement with Nihon Falcom to bring a slew of games to the PlayStation Portable in North America. The publisher is bringing Ys SEVEN, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chroniclesto the PSP, on top of all three titles in the The Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki trilogy. According to XSEED, they retain “exclusive North American publishing and distribution rights to multiple upcoming iterations of the Ys and The Legend of Heroes series, starting with Ys SEVEN, exclusively for the PSP system."I couldn’t be more pleased to announce a partnership with a development studio as renown by gamers for consistently putting out quality titles as Falcom," stated XSEED Games President Jun Iwasaki. "Their titles have always been some of the most requested titles, so it is going to be our pleasure to oblige the North American fans by delivering an amazing line up of in-depth and gripping RPGs."
XSEED will release Ys SEVEN in the late summer, and will release more information on the other titles as their release date gets closer. Also, this:

Can I get a "heck yes"? I've been waiting years to play Ys 3 and the Legend of Heroes trilogy (the good one, not the terribly ported and translated one).

Sweet! I've been dying to dive into this series after getting Ys I & II on the VC so long ago.

Thank God. I'm a Ys fanatic and love the series to death, and have always been sad they never seem to catch on in America or do very well here. Oath in Felghana is an amazing game when I played it on the PC, and I wouldn't mind a PSP port. Definately looking forward to Seven and Books I and II as I never played those. I'll definitely pick those up.

Hooray! I've been wanting to play Legend of Heroes VI for a long time. Ever since I heard its soundtrack.

Yeah, I own the soundtracks to all three chapters of it. It'll be nice to actually own the games, lol.

Now all we need to have is Falcom to do PSP versions of Ys IV and V and the US has finally virtually got the entire franchise in one form or another.

That and Origins. Which IV was the good one again? Mask Of The Sun or... the other one? Heh.

Even though I own Ys I & II for the DS, the graphics are ugly as hell compared to the way it used to look (polygonal land vs. beautifully drawn areas), so I'll still gladly buy Chronicles. And hopefully none of these will suffer from the loading problems Ark Of Napishtim had on PSP.

Check it out:

Collector's Edition! (http://www.gamingbits.com/content/view/7959/2/)

Here's hoping it will be widely available in Canada. Unlike the Lunar one, I'd jump on this in a heartbeat.

Y'know, I just looked at the thread title, and for a second, it looked like "XSEED and Nathan Fillion team up to bring Ys games stateside".

How awesome would those commercials be?

Apparently, this is the old schedule XSEED posted for their upcoming Falcom games (since it wasn't posted):

Summer 2010 - Ys SEVEN
Winter 2010 - Ys Oath in Felghana
Spring 2011 - Ys Chronicles
Summer 2011 - Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
2012 - Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 2

So yeah, Ys 7 is just a little ways away!

I preordered the special edition a few weeks back at Gamestop. I guess it's set for August 18. Amazon has Felghana and Chronicles up for pre-order (with a November and January release date, respectively), but I'm going to wait to see if there are limited editions to those too beforehand.

Oath In Felghana's Special Edition was revealed (http://www.siliconera.com/2010/09/07/ys-the-oath-in-felghana-limited-edition-helps-you-gets-organized/)!

This one is only $39.99, and considering how awesome the soundtrack is to this, I'll definitely be getting that one.

I already own the soundtrack, but I'll buy the special edition anyway! :anime:

And for the final release:

XSEED Games Announces “Hair Metal Pack” for Ys I & II Chronicles for the PSP® System

All Initial Launch Units to Ship with Bonus Soundtrack CD

Torrance, Calif., (December 22, 2010) – XSEED Games announced today that all initial launch units of the upcoming compilation Ys I & II Chronicles will be an ‘80s themed “Hair Metal Pack”, containing a bonus soundtrack CD when the title releases exclusively for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system in February. The “Hair Metal Pack” will be available for a suggested retail price of $29.99, and a digital download version* of the game will also be available for purchase via PlayStation®Store for a retail price of $24.99.

The “Hair Metal Pack” celebrates the origins of Falcom’s legendary in-house band, the jdk Band, commemorating when they were unleashed upon the world with the launch of the original Ys in 1987. Ys I & II Chronicles will be released with a bonus music CD which includes over 20 select tracks from the remastered soundtracks of Ys and Ys II.

Following the recent success of Ys SEVEN and Ys: The Oath in Felghana, XSEED Games celebrates the proud history of the iconic Ys series with a re-imagining of the very first two games in Ys I & II Chronicles. Newly redrawn artwork and remastered musical scores are paired with the simple, classic yet elegant “bump” buttonless combat system as Ys I & II Chronicles combines the two classic titles into one amazing retail package.

Ys I & II Chronicles is rated "T" for Teen and will start shipping to retailers exclusively for the PSP system across North America in February 2011.

*Digital download does not include bonus soundtrack Here's the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XOZl9OXt1M)

Looks like the Ys games were a success for XSeed, here's hoping they can keep the good vibes going with the Trails In The Sky releases next year in addition to Ys I & II Chronicles.

Seven and Felghana were easily the best things I put into my PSP this year, and I loved Persona 3 Portable.
