I have never realized how screwed up Pokemon and Super Mario Bros are. But I guess that's what makes them so well-loved by all. And not many gamers like the more realistic looking games. But still, I ask.

Would Video Games be fun if they were logical?

If video games follow logic, reason, and physics 100%, would they still be fun?

Would they be fun if they made perfect sense about anything? And I mean ALL games.

It would depend on what its about, I wouldn't want a realistic grocerie shopping game, but a realistic 1960's SCCA racing simulator? Give it to me baby!

Hasn't Microsoft already made games like that for the Computer? I'm thinking of the aviation and train simulators that you can find in most computer game software sections.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is what you're thinking of. And that is a very realistic game, you could probably use it to get a good handle on the basics of flying. And it was very popular.

You've also got the Gran Turismo games, which go out of their way to create the most realistic driving experiences possible in terms of physics and control.

With this it's really about finding balance for the right game, I guess. If videogames were perfectly realistic you'd be lucky to jump a foot and if you got shot once you'd die an agonizing death. That could actually work if you wanted a hardcore military simulator, but not so much for a platforming action game.

There's a difference between "logical" and "realistic."

I want my games to be "logical" in that I want everything to make sense in context. The context, however, is allowed to be that of another planet where a pink puffball eats villains and steals their powers until being hit. "Realism" is overrated, but logic in the form of consistency is a good thing.
