i've been wondering..does anyone here go to the cons?
i'm trying to talk my uncle into taking me and a friend to A-Kon and then a bunch of my online friends are meeting at Otakon (which they have been planning since last august).

I've gone to a few of The Wizard Con's and I'm looking into finding out about some this coming summer or during spring Vacation. i love Con's because most people are pretty friendly when you take a camcorder or digital camera.
Not only that but you get to see and buy things that the public amy never get to or will have to wait for...

I've been to all the Chicago Wizard Cons, and before they were bought out by Wizard, I went to the Chicago Comicons. I just moved to the east coast, so this year I may not make it to the Chicago con. And I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it to the east coast Wizard con this year either - have to wait and see I guess.

I've been attending comic book conventions since 1984. Chicago Comicon was my favorite right up until the year Image came out and the founders had their own little tent. That was back when it was in what, the Ramada O'Hare? Now that Wizard has taken over, it's much bigger, but more crowded too. My favorite now is the spring Motor City Comicon in Novi, Michigan, which is near Detroit. It's much the same size as Chicago, but with much wider aisles and more room to breathe and shop. I can say, too, that in my one year as a seller, Motor City was just as lucrative as Chicago, but less expensive.
I'd love to go to San Diego some day, but the airfare would cut too far into my spending budget.

I almost went to the Okaton during highschool, but ended up having to skip out because college was starting. >.< makes me maaaaaaaaaad. and it's near me, too. =P
since then, i haven't had any friends interested in comics or that had enough money or desire to go to a convention with me. i haven't kept in touch with my one high school friend that i was going to go with, so..... :(
i'd like to go to one someday. any convention - comics, anime, martial arts...that is my life long dream ^_^
I've never been to one, and I don't ever plan on going to one. I don't think I could stand being around so many geeks at one time.

Me and a friend (mbaker) go to a comic book convention in pittsburgh called The Pittsburgh Comiccon for the past two
years.
They have mostly comic book people (inkers, artists) plus dealers
(you can get bootleg tapes of certain cartoon shows, plus animes as well.)
They also have people in the sci-fi business (Xena, Star Trek, This year is Star Wars. The big guy this year is Kenny Baker, (R2-D2) will be signing autographs.
They also have a WWF wrestler on saturday. Two years ago, Mick Foley (Mankind, catcus Jack and Dude Love) was there. Last year, it was Chyna. This year is throwback as Ted Dibiase, (The Million Dollar Man), Virgil, and Nikolai Volkoff.
I have fun going, not too many crazy people show up (except one year i had a minor alternation with a star trek fan). and plan on going this year (April 26th to the 28th)
It's held at the Monoreville Expomart.

Heck yeah! I've gone to Anime Expo for the past three years, and each time was better then the last, especially when you cosplay. Sadly I can't go this year, and probably wont have time to go anymore, college and getting a job and all that *sobs*. Perhaps I'll try and go to the San Diego Comic Con one of these years. I'd always wanted to check that out, but I had to choose between that and Expo, and always choise Expo, but I've heard SDCC is so awesome.

I make an annual trek to Sakura Con, since it's not that far away for me.
It's a good thing I only go to one of these things a year, I usually end up buy way too much junk. A second con would probably bankrupt me. :D
