Only in teaser form right now (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/konami-reveals-new-silent-hill-game) with more info to be revealed at E3.

Speculation is that it's a Silent Hill 2 remake. However, it seems Climax is not involved, as it mentions working with a new developer.

I hope it's not a remake. The "remake" aspect worked wonders for Shattered Memories, but I don't want them to start remaking every game in the series.

It's a shame Climax won't be involved. Shattered Memories is one of my favorite Silent Hills in the series. I would have loved to see them make another one. Ah well, a new Silent Hill is all I need to hear to get excited. Who could be behind it, I wonder?

EDIT: Apparently the new developer is going to be "Vatra Games", the same developers making the upcoming Rush'N Attack. Shame, I'd love to see Climax make another Silent Hill, but I'm willing to get these new guys the benefit of the doubt. According to some websites the character seen in the teaser trailer looks like James Sunderland. I'd rather this not be a remake unless it can do something really amazing like Shattered Memories did.

The music will not be composed by Akira Yamaoka this time around. That's going to be hard to deal with.

I wonder why they're changing developers. It looked like Climax was finally getting the hang of it. But well, maybe this means they're working on something new.

Maybe it's a sequel to Silent Hill 2? (Note: I never played Silent Hill 2)

I'm surprised that Climax isn't making this game since they have basically been Konami's go to American developer for Silent Hill games. I thought they were getting the hang of the franchise pretty well, even though I never finished SM because of those stupid chase scenes. Good idea poorly executed. Though I wonder why Konami didn't let Team Silent finally do another one?

Team Silent won't be making anymore Silent Hill games because, when it comes right down to it, they don't want to. Team Silent disbanded after the first Silent Hill and each game after that has had a different team. So Team Silent basically never even existed.

It could be a sequel to SH2, I suppose, but it seems unlikely considering...
in what is considered the canon ending to Silent Hill 2, "In Water", James dies.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

There's no canon ending to Silent Hill, for all we know James could have started a new life (because after all he DID MURDER his wife) with a new identity. Konami has stated that James's fate is up to the player.

But in Silent Hill 3 Douglas tells Heather of a person that went missing up in Silent Hill a few years back that was never found. And in Silent Hill 4, James' father is the superintendent of the apartment building you live in. Henry makes a comment about how his son went missing in Silent Hill.

The signs kind of point to him dying there.

As I said Konami has stated that James's fate is up to the player, him being missing could also mean that he has started a new life with a new name, (because you know, he murdered his wife:sad:) and also I don't think James would bother to say goodbye to his dad since he seemed kinda emotional distant in Silent Hill 4:shrug: (just why he kept that umbilical cord, anyway?:ack:)

Well let's hope it is good. THere hasn't been a good Silent Hill game since 3.
