Well, it was already known for a while that F.E.A.R. 3 would be announced (although, the fact that its scheduled to release in Fall of this year seems a little bit too soon, considering that the 2nd game only came out last year). According to this (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6257283.html) Gamespot article, Monolith will not be involed in making the 3rd installment, and have instead passed the torch onto Day 1 Studios. Also, it would seem as though they have enlisted the help of famous horror director John Carpenter to spruce up the horror elements of the game, since the 2nd one was kind of....well, not scary at all (it relied way too much on cheap jump scares that didn't even turn out to be that scary, rather than a creepy atmosphere like the 1st game).

Anyways, even as someone who grows tired of most FPS games these days, I'm pretty excited for this game (hopefully it turns out to be good). I absolutely loved the 1st game, and I also may be one of the few people who doesn't hate the 2nd game (sure, it skrewed up big-time on the horror side of things, but the gameplay was still solid and lots of fun, IMO). If this game can bring both the intense action and intense horror elements of F.E.A.R. to their peak, then it may turn out to be the best FPS for me this year, personally.

I was wondering when they were gonna announced F.3.A.R. And Point Man is back. That cool.

So I guess Becket must be have died after getting Alma pregnant at the end of F.E.A.R. 2.

The only thing that worries me is cover system. Don't know why a FPS needs one.

My problem with Monolith is that it seems their games are getting "safer" as they go and feel less unique.

Like Condemned 1 to 2, or even F.E.A.R. 1 to 2, they seem much more stock in their execution. Let's hope F.3.A.R. is closer to the original than the (it's alright) sequel.

Hopefully Monolith themselves is working on Shogo 2 or another No One Lives Forever game. Maybe a Blood reboot.

Even though I was expecting something to go horribly wrong by the end of the game, that ending seriously pissed me off, especially since that's basically all that happens right before the end credits begin to roll (pretty anti-climactic compared to the intense, albeit considerably cliche, ending of the 1st game, IMO).

Well, Monolith won't even be involved in the production of F.3.A.R at all, so the chances of new unique things being done with the game might be pretty good (although, I suppose that would depend more on whether Day 1 Studios wants to try something new or stick to the same formula that Monolith set up with the previous games).

Well, even though I'm sure his involvement will be limited, I hope I get some of the trademark Carpenter atmosphere on this one, as 2 disappointed me.

Here trailer (http://kotaku.com/5513160/f3ar-trailer-features-pregnant-lady-scary). It mostly live action but near the end you can see some game footage. That trailer gave me a "Rosemary's Baby" vibe .

I'll play it. I've liked all three Fear games so far. John Carpenter's"involvment" will probably be nothing more than putting his name on it and getting a check cashed.

I found another trailer for the game, here (http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/video.phtml?id=6253). I'm not sure if its new or not, but aside from the parts of it that are in live-action, it does show some more flashes of gameplay footage. It seems as though, aside from the regular human solider-type enemies like the replicas and such, you'll also have to deal with even more types of muntant creatures (sort of like the abominations from F.E.A.R. 2, except these ones actually look much more vicious). It pretty much looks as though this game will just go for embracing more over-the-top John Woo style action rather than trying to be scary, basedo n the trailers so far. I mean, if it does aim to still be scary, it'll probably try to rely more on jump scares, which usually don't work out very well, IMO.
