Surprised to never see a discussion like this going on so...
Is there a game/game series that you just happen to be really good at? For me it's probably the "Tales of" series. In Abyss I'm having all the patience of beating everything on Unknown mode right now and about 85% done, makes things more crazy that the next bosses have such high def where only fonic arts can work and they have over 800k+ of hp.
EDIT:And yes I just realized my typo in the thread title..oh grammar, gotta love it.

TETRIS.
I have been playing Tetris on my old Gameboy (though i've recently come into a blue Gameboy pocket) since I was like 3. I kick ass.

Action/adventure games
Games like Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and God of War. Not to the point where I know all sorts of combos in from the back of my head or the more advanced combos you see videos of, but I'm fairly decent in them.
GoldenEye007/Perfect Dark (N64) - Probably the only shooting game(s) where I think I'll dominate any and everyone in. Probably not on any of the newer consoles since I can only play both those games on the N64. It's strange because I thought Halo uses the same gameplay mechanics as these games but I suck at that game compared to these. I like to think the N64 had the perfect controls for FPS, but then again maybe it was just those 2 games.
Fighting games
Not like how I used to be. Put me in front of a Street Fighter game, though, and it's an entirely different story. Not saying I'll beat everyone, but I think I'd give people a nice run... (give me a minute with 4 though. I've yet to play it)
Uncharted Series INCLUDING Uncharted 2's Multiplayer.
I'm pretty beastly

Yeah, I'm oddly good at Perfect Dark despite being pretty lousy at most FPS games. In multi, you only really need to know the maps and you can get the jump on anybody.
I'm also really good at 2D platformers like Sonic and Mario.
Most other genres I'm fairly average at, or just terrible.

I always seem to win at Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Soulcalibur IV when playing against friends and family. Even though I'm not a huge fan of them, fighting games seem to be what I'm best at. I'm also extremely good at One Piece: Grand Battle!, but I doubt anyone even plays that game any more.

Well, I'd LOVE to say that I am awesome at both of the new Ninja Gaiden games, as I have been able to complete both games on Master Ninja mode, but honestly its hard for me to say that when this game leaves so much room for improvement in skill that when I compare myself to the pros at either of the 2 games (they both have some significant differences that set them apart among how the pros play each), I just realize that I still have a lot of things that I could improve on (for one thing, I can't even hope to get nearly as high of Karma scores as the pros get when it comes the 1st game, and I can't even come up with nearly as many ways to pull off insanely awesome combos on the harder difficulties like the better players do, and above all else I have yet to complete a full handicap run in the game, with my original life-bar and without the use of any Ninpo at all). So, in short, these games are definitely the games that I am best at, but I can't even say that I'm awesome at these.
Well, now that I think about it, I used to be EXTREMELY good at Sega Soccer Slam (one of the ONLY few sports games that I ever liked, primarily because it didn't even play like a Sports game but instead like more of a brawling game with sports elements in it), but I haven't played that game in ages, so I'd probably be terrible at it now. :p
When I think even harder, I also did manage to get nearly 100% completion and unlock "almost" everything in Jet Set Radio Future, which is pretty darn hard to do, so I'd say that I'm pretty awesome at the game since I don't know too many people who have gotten 100% completion in the game, or even close to it.

Granted, I haven't played this game in years (though I should pick it up again to confirm what I'm gonna write after this), but I can wipe the floor with opponents on Crash Team Racing. I played that game so much that at one point, I swear it was a part of my bloodstream. :D

Nintendo Multiplayer games and Pokemon. I am great at Mario Kart, Smash Bros and wii sports. Though at the first two I have a friend who is better though I four stock lvl 9 computers in Smash so I'm obviously pretty good. He can only beat me in the older Mario karts though, if there is a wii wheel involved I win.

Same here. It's been a fixture of my Gameboy since the old brick one back in the day. I kind of upgraded when Tetris DS came out, but I still pop in the old one from time to time.
As far as other games go? I can rock out a decent game of Super Mario 64.

I'm very good Super Mario 3 and there are many levels that I can pretty much just run straight through, but I don't think that my current level compares to what I could do as a kid. My occasional attempts at a flawless game have proven unsuccessful so far, and this has usually been because of some pretty trivial mistakes that I don't think would have happened years ago. That could just be nostalgia talking, though. It's not like I did a perfect game back then either.
I won't presume to arrogantly name much else, although I can win games of Alpha Centauri on the higher difficulty settings.

I'm a total expert at the Prince of Persia games.
I consider myself pretty good with the Fire Emblem games, knowing all the classes, weapon types, skills, items, and who's better depending on the maps. But specifically, I consider myself an expert on Radiant Dawn. I know that game left and right, and I always beat it again and again just for the sake of trying new characters. My last run I did a Trueblade run, getting all five of them in the Top 5.
In fact, help me with a personal challenge. For those who are familiar with the game, name me ten characters and I'll use those for the Endgame. No restrictions, it doesn't matter if the character sucks ass.

Well it's not that hard with Radiant Dawn. That game is more about the stat caps than the characters themselves, and they're very easy to reach thanks to the way BEXP works in that game.

EXPERTYeah, it's the only FE game where every character can potentially be good, although some are quite more difficult to use than others (like most of the non-royal Laguz who gain very little experience early in the game, not to mention they have horrible growths). And on Hard Mode, some characters simply can't be used unless you Boss Abuse for hundreds of turns.

I've been playing games for nearly 30 years and wouldn't say I'm good at many of them. Of course, I think of good as being competitive in multiplayer or on world high score tables, so I may be using different criteria. I enjoy them anyway, though.
I am good at the original Pitfall, though. I can keep it going for the whole time, get most of the treasures, jump the scorpion and loop the screen. I'm good enough to beat most Mega Man games and other NES games that some people consider hard. I used to be able to beat Street Fighter II on the highest difficulty level. I mastered the Jago character in the original Killer Instinct and could do his Killer Combo at will, much to the disgust of my college roommate. I've beaten several of the RE games with the special super fast conditions you need to get the special weapons. I figured out all of the regular puzzles in the original Professor Layton without a guide (well, one didn't work because I was putting a toothpick in the wrong place, but I knew what the answer was). And I just beat Mass Effect 2 on Insanity.

Laguz in general were nerfed in RD, and the screwed-up story splits mean DB will 99/100 times will be underleveled compared to GMs.
I guess I'll expert-dibs on Super Robot Alpha Gaiden. Played that so many times. Kamille's the only suit that's stayed consistently top-rank.

As a fellow FE fan, I simply have to oblige. Let's see.....
Laura
Palleas
Mist
Leonardo
Meg
Rafiel
Oliver
Volke
Jill
Astrid
How's that for a team with a few alleged misfits? Good luck.
A team of fliers could offer interesting advantages and disadvantages...
Jill

Although there's one missing character (Rafiel is the forced Heron so he doesn't count into the Top 10).

One of the Cat twins, then.
A pure non-royal laguz run would be the hardest thing ever, though. Not only do you have most of the worst characters in the game, but their availability makes them hard to raise.

That list's not that bad, actually, Volke, Palleas, Mist are all perfectly usable. Jill is actually one of the best characters, and Leo/Astrid can just share the double bow thanks to Canto. You also suggested the best Heron, too :p

And that list is not too bad on Normal Mode. Try raising those units properly on Hard Mode. That's where the challenge is.

I thought I was really good at Super Street Fighter II Turbo, until I played online and got my ass handed to me.
Other than that... Mario, Sonic, the usual suspects.

Y'know, FFXIII
The money grinding may be sparse with crappy drop rates (although the 3 tonberry mission and the titan trials in general drop some really good sellers,) but this battle system has such a wonderful learning curve.
It is difficult, but there's like a million ways to take down an enemy, even on the broken ones.
I've become adept at hit chain juggling and can just about take down a neochu without having to resort to the death trick:
Vanille (Leader)
Sahz
Snow
Paradigms (ordered by Vanille, Sahz, Snow):
1) Saboteur, Synergist, Sentinel
2) Medic, Medic, Sentinel
3) Synergist, Synergist, Sentinel
4) Ravager, Commando, Sentinel
5) Ravager, Ravager, Sentinel
Neochu strikes in the same order: ground vines > screech > pollen
While he's using ground vines, alternate with 4 and 5 to bring his hit chain up. You want to use 5 a lot, and only need to use 4 briefly to maintain the combos.
Let him screech, then use 3 to bring your haste back up. Go to 4 briefly to maintain his hit chain. Use 2 to heal. Use 4 briefly again. Repeat these same steps for pollen.
Go back to using 4 and 5.
Even when he brings out the reinforcements it only slows you down somewhat, so it still seems possible to keep doing this until he's dead. Vanille's stronger cure spells should catch the added damage. Just make sure she's fully-healed before the screech. Expect 30 minutes or more of your time to be wasted.
You cycle through the same steps in constant juggle for 30 minutes, but damn is it intense.

^ Can someone tell me the difference between all 3?
RPG - Kinda. I hate how RPGs have so many areas to explore. You never know if you're on the right path or going to a secret area or something.
3rd Person Shooter - I'm ok-ish with 1st Person but I crush with 3rd Person.
Specific titles
LOTR: Conquest - I was really good at Lord of the Rings: Conquest until EA took down the servers.
Killer Instinct - I haven't played in a while but I think I've still got the skills. Just waiting for it to come to XBLA.
Smash Bros. All - Zelda/Sheik FTW! Although I'm not sure why a Japanese Elvish princess turns in an Arabian sheik but it's all in good fun.

Well, from my point of view, the differences would be:
Adventure: Puts more focus on exploration or finding hidden ways through levels, while not putting too much emphasis on fighting enemies, or even if the game involves fighting enemies, its usually more oriented towards the adventure elements, like theo nes I just mentioned, as well as thigns like solving puzzles and collecting certain items, and the like.
Examples: Most Super Mario games, Zelda games (it has action in it too, but it falls in line with what I said about putting much more relative emphasis on adventure rather than action), etc.
Action: These sorts of games focus more on the pure action elements of a game, and don't offer too much in the way of hidden paths, exploration, and puzzles, as well as other types of elements found in adventure games.
Examples: Bayonetta, Max Payne, Ninja Gaiden II (XBOX360), etc.
Action-Adventure: This basically combines elements of both action and adventure games to about an equal relative amount (although, action elements can still seem to prevail considerably for some games classified as action-adventure games).
Examples: Ninja Gaiden Black, Shadow Complex, Metroid games, etc.

I disagree. So do these characters.
As for me, it's funny. i'm been playing games for 15 years, I've gone through multiple genres, IPs and consoles but there isn't a single game I can confidently say I'm quite dominant in. Just about every multiplayer game I've played I'm slightly above average, but there's no game I truly stand out in. A few years ago I might have said Super Smash Bros Melee, but years of less playtime and jumping into Brawl have left me completely rusty.
I disagree. So do these characters.I almost always use Meg. She just needs a forged weapon at first but after gaining a few levels she's very good. Here's her on my last playthrough on Normal:

Astrid I've only used once, but she turned out quite good.
