It finally happened. Americans who long for Teletoon Retro and Canadians who long for Boomerang can now rejoice.

After many years of negotiating, America's Turner Broadcasting and Canada's CBC have managed to merge their 2 popular classic animation channels into a single entity, which will air simultaneously in both Canada and the United States.

"It was heavy-duty," said Turner president Stuart Snyder, "but it had to be done. That Boomerang channel has been taking up space and collecting dust on the airwaves for nearly 10 years. It's high time we turned that bad boy around into a money making machine. Our goal is to continue Ted's original dream of giving everyone the opportunity re-visit all of those old cartoons that we grew up with. And some that we didn't."

The merged station will be dubbed Tele-Turner Classic, and it will feature all of the shows in the Turner library, including Hanna-Barbera favorites as well as Looney Tunes, and shows from the Filmation library, Total Television's Underdog and Tennessee Tuxedo. As an added bonus, the station will pick up Cartoon Network's first live-action/animation hybrid comedy, Out of Jimmy's Head. The series will return on TTC with all new episodes.

Tele-Turner Classic is scheduled to launch on February 29, 2011.

1. This is almost an exact copy of something I did last year.

2. It's WAY too long to be funny.

3. You're link doesn't work.

Is this supposed to be an April Fools joke? Because if it is, I'm not laughing. I looked up the information on Yahoo search and guess what? There isn't any, because it's not true. When this is officially confirmed, we can celebrate then. Since it isn't, don't get your hopes up. April Fools Day is nothing but another excuse for people to make total imbeciles out of themselves by posting untrue stories, and quite frankly, I'm not down with that. In reality, it would be nice if Boomerang and Teletoon Retro could merge, but I'm not going to bet the house on it.
