Seeing how April 1st is here, I figured I would post this since there are fans of Rare on here.{If anyone asks, no Conker 2 isnt happen along with a new BJK game for the Wii. This isnt a joke its a real deal on what I'm about to say} Some people have been wondering about Remakes of Battletoads or even Killer instict happening. But Rare has stated that a remake of any kind is highly doubtful.

If their "remakes" would be anything like Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, then count me glad they don't plan on bringing them back.

Well, characterwise, Battletoads and Killer Instinct are products of their time, but I don't see why something like JFG wouldn't work today.

Rare is pretty much finished because any new game they come up with will sell horribly. Ghoulies failed, Kameo failed, PD0 failed, Viva Pinata failed, B-K Nuts and Bolts failed, so instead of giving people crappy sequels or prequels, give the people what they've been asking for.

We're all better off not worrying about any more battletoads.

Beat Em Ups are dead, so yeah, don't expect Battletoads, but it is disappointing they didn't capitalize on the mainstream fighting game resurrection with an XBLA KI, though.

Perfect Dark has been doing extremely well and was rated a full 5/5 on XBLA for a long time (before dropping to 4 and 3/4), so you'd figure the next logical remake would be JFG. If it's not that, then what?

I really don't see why Rare doesn't put more focus on XBLA releases. I'm sure a lot more of their franchises would thrive well on that service, especially considering the skepticism that comes with purchasing a Rare product these days.

Also, I still want a new Killer Instinct. I would do anything to get a sequel.

And that would be?

People have been wanting a Killer Instinct 3 for years. Even Capcom gave it's fans 2 new Mega Man games in classic format, and Street Fighter IV.

People have been wanting a Killer Instinct 3 for years. Even Capcom gave it's fans 2 new Mega Man games in classic format, and Street Fighter IV. Not only that TKn, people have been asking for a new Conker game. That is a true sequel to the first one, but however Rare isnt listening. As much as I would like to see a new Conker game to happen I really cannot picture it happening now. I dont got nothing agaisnt people who liked Live and reloaded, I myself used to play it sometimes.

Rare is pretty much finished because any new game they come up with will sell horribly. Keep in mind that most people who worked on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark had left Rare after those games were finished. I think most of the people that have worked on the first Banjo-kazooie games had left the studio as well. I think 50% of the people that worked on Nuts and Bolts were not familiar with Banjo-kazooie. I dont have anything agaisnt nuts and bolts, I think the concept is great. But however I think it wouldve been better if Rare would just done something original with the idea instead of using characters we already know. Personally, Rare was better off with Nintendo.

Well, characterwise, Battletoads and Killer Instinct are products of their time, but I don't see why something like JFG wouldn't work today. I think both of them would still work as long as they cranked up the EXTREME to near self-parody levels. The problem would be finding someone talented enough to actually pull it off without being too silly.

It's not that Rare isn't listening, but they have had many projects canceled over the years every since being bought be Microsoft. I think one of those projects actually was a JFG sequel.

These improved remakes (I wish all N64 games got these) are basically as close as we can get to old Rare while they're on lockdown.
