While some would view this as off-topic, I don't. Shrek won for Animated Feature and For the Birds won for Animated Short last night. The loud noise in California was Michael Eisner's set sailing out his window when Shrek won! I hope Pixar puts For the Birds in front of Monsters, Inc. for DVD/VHS release.

I know, I'm glad Shrek won, it's nice to see any studio beat Disney.

How is this on topic? It isn't classic cartoon related.

Anyway, Disney hasn't deserved to win in a long time.

It will be on the "Monsters Inc." DVD Collector's Set.

I don't know...it was a tough call between the two. Although I personally thought "Monsters Inc." was a better executed and overall movie, I can see why "Shrek" got it. I'm thinking the Academy wanted to show that the Best Animated Feature award won't necessary mean "Best Kids Movie," if that makes any sense.

Not that "Monsters Inc." went home empty-handed. Best Song is pretty much the only other Oscar an animated film has a real shot at getting nowadays. (and speaking of movie songs, is ANYONE else sick of "All Star??")

And I don't consider Pixar to be completely Disney, so I definitely root for Pixar movies when they're up for awards.
