I picked up that great issue of Superman Adventures you did a while back - you know, the story told from four different points of view? Well, I was really very impressed!
Somehow the story felt a lot like the first few issues of the series - calm, controlled, well-thought-out and clever! The art was really a treat, but I just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoyed the story. It was just a change of pace, especially after how...unusual the stories started becoming near the end of the run. You made the great supporting cast a treat to watch and kept the Superman/Kalibak story from becoming over-bearing. I know I tend to nit-pick your work on Justice League Adventures (only a little ;) ), so I just had to pat you on the back for this one! Nice job! Look forward to your issue of Gotham Adventures! Any idea who'll be pencilling it?

The issue Disneyboy (hey DB!) is referring to is Superman Adventures #57, written by Dan Slott with art by Cameron Stewart (upcoming Catwoman artist). If you haven't seen this issue, do yourself a favor and hunt it down! It's one of my personal favorite issue from this series -- very well done across the board!

Thanks for the kind words, Disneyboy.
Superman Adventures #57 was a fun story to work on. (In fact, I liked it so much that I bought the "I do it too!" page).
I got to co-write SA #40 with my pal, Ty Templeton-- but SA #57 was my first time writing the character by myself and without a net. I didn't know if I'd ever get to write Supes again, so I just HAD to have Perry say, "Great Caesar's Ghost!" and have someone in a crowd say, "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's SUPERMAN!" (And did anyone notice that I worked in the name of my favorite Flash villain? --see avatar). Ah well...
Now, in the words of Stu Steckler (a.k.a. Superfan), "There's always Gotham."
In my upcoming Goth Adv. Inventory issue (who knows WHEN it will run?), the art was done by one of my favorite comic book artists, James Fry. James has done work on Spectacular Spider-Man, X-Man, Moon Knight, Marvel Team-Up and most recently on Birds of Prey. I asked for James on this job because I know one of his deepest secrets: he is one of the world's biggest Creeper fans! And this story is less of a Batman story and more of a Creeper story with some Batman in it. It's a hoot! The main bad guy is the Ventriloquist, and since he JUST appeared in Gotham Adv., you probably won't see this issue for quite some time.

YES!!! A Creeper story! I really hope this sees the light of day soon, seeing as the animated Creeper has only appeared in issue #17 of Adventures in the DC Universe, by Steve Vance and John Delaney. I can't wait to see- and read- it!!!!

Great news, Dan. On the subject of Gotham Adventures, do you know if Levins and Peterson are still staying on board? Issue 51 seems to suggest that the book will soon feature a rotating crew, like JLA...

I don't think that it suggests anything of the sort. It's just a fill in issue, like issue #31 that featured that great Ty Templeton story. If this was the start of a rotating art crew, then I'll be happy! But I bet it's just a fill-in issue, which sorta sucks.

I'd love to see Slott take over. Frankly, I'm sick of the mediocre stories the series has been churning out. And I'm sick of the art that desn't even resemble the characters properly. I know there is artistic license and everything, but what about us - the fans?

...the who !?!
I'm sorry, the only people who read B: GA are under the age of ten, and only attracted to fight sequences and morals.
(sacasm overload!)

Dan, you wrote the Kalibak issue? wow I'm impressed, it's one of my favorite issues of the whole SA run! I loved the action, the different standpoints, and I'm a big New Gods fan so what's not to like in this ish?
In one word, great job... (yes i CAN count :))

I find it kind of funny how in Superman Adventures, we so rarely got to actually see Darkseid! His only major appearance was in the final issue. Still, I think it gives him a very large advantage over the other villains - he's mysterious and ever-present. How many times was he seen in the series? I know he appeared in the "22 stories in a single bound" issue, as well as "Last Daughter of Argo". Has he appeared in any other issues, and to what extent? I'd really like to pick up any issues with him, so please let me know which ones he appeared in! I only bought Superman Adventures sporadically, so I could have missed something...
