w/ make-up = Sailor Moon
w/out make-up = Usagi

Makes sense to you now?

Yeah I know. How come no one knows the identities without seeing for themselves or having identities revealed.

Tuxedo Mask and Sailor V I can understand, they wear masks. But Sailor Moon and the Sailor Sensei they just change outfits and wear a tiera.

RonDrakenfan17 is probably referring more to that the Scouts (or whatever) never did figure out themsevles that Sailor Moon was the long lost Moon Princess they were looking for in the first seasons.

At first, it would be a logical conclusion. Sailor Moon is the defender of the Moon. In all likelyhood, she could be the Princess.

However, when one factors in the clumsiness, ill mannered, gluttonous, cowardly, lack of interest in education, and how much of a child she behaves like, its easy to understand why no one would think Sailor Moon would be the Moon Princess.

Strange since in Ojamajo Doremi people see them and their like "Doremi why are you in those costumes" unless their using magic.

Guess if you add a few frilly little outfits to girls they look nothing like themselves.

Yeah but I give Naru credit. In the anime she figured it out without having to be told or see Usagi transform in front of her. Though they never made it clear, in my opinion she knows who Sailor Moon is.

I remember a Sailor Moon FAQ someone wrote up a few years ago that said there's some kind of recognition-clouding magic that activates when they transform.

Yeah, I recall reading that, as well. Sounds reasonable to me. Plus, it's a really easy way to explain it without making it seem farfetched (a la Superman/Clark Kent).

Because plot. Simple as that.

I know they used to say in the comics that Superman used to vibrate his face to blur it slightly so that that no one would make the connection between him and Clark Kent. And then there was that one time that one incarnation of Supergirl who had shapeshifting abilities transformed into Clark so that he and Superman could be in the same location.

w/ make-up = Sailor Moon
w/out make-up = Usagi

Makes sense to you now?

More like:

w/ make up and a short skirt and figure hugging outfit = Sailor Moon
w/ make up and a longer skirt with loose clothing = Usagi

Trust me, it makes a HUGE difference...:D

As someone said, this has been established in the manga and I think actually answered in the anime once as well. In short, it's magic. They may look the same to the viewer, but to everyone else in the world they look very different.

Similar to the show "Dead Like Me."

That's just weird. So they look like some one different to other people, but to us they look the same? LOL I was wondering why V came up to every one in one episode and asked if this was the Sailor Scout meeting when they looked the same just in regular clothes. I was like What the heck?

Gatomon41 that is one of the things I was talking about. And while she may be clumsey, she's still connected to the moon :p If I were one of the main characters I'd have been like "Hey, what if the moon Princess is Sailor Moon?"

I can understand the Senshi not making the connection but Luna and her wonderful convenient "plot memory" didn't help things.

Luna: Oh, that's right. He's the Crescent Moon Wand. You're the leader. Oh that's right. You Sailor Moon ARE the Moon Princess. Oh that's right there's probably a few dozen more Sailor Soldiers floating around.

Then my Tuxedo Mask and his dreams. Dude, the hair should have been a dead giveaway.

Thank goodness the live-action series made this whole scenario far more believable.

"If you're wondering on how he eats and breaths, and other science facts. Just repeat to yourself, it's just a show. I should really just relax."

Wouldn't it be funny if V was wrong and she went up to the wrong group of kids and said that?

Minako: "Is this the Sailor Scout meeting?"

Random kids: "What the...? You mean like those superheroes we hear about on the news?"

Mina: "Uhhh...OH SNAP!"

Oh I know anime normally doesn't make sense.
However, I was watching the show and before I read some of your comments, it was painful to watch some of the characters not put two and two together. It all makes sense now :ack: Well except for them not putting Sailor Moon and the moon Princess together, for me that would have been easy to figure out. And yes, Leaping Larry Jo that would have been very funny had that happened LOL.

I always thought the Tiaras had magical powers that coated their identities just like when Sailor Moon would use her Magic Pen to turn into different People. Thats how I looked at it.
