Aladdin's Racial slur

In the post 9-11 era. I was wondering if Di$ney will have second thoughts about restoring the "Cut out your throught 'cause they don't like your face" lyric in the opening song from Aladdin? They plan on releaseing Aladdin next year, or the following year in a 2 disc set. i'm just curious.

The line in question, "Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face; it's barbaric, but hey, it's home," which was in the theatrical print of Aladdin and replaced for the home video release as "Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense; it's barbaric, but hey, it's home" will NOT be restored as an attempt to make Osama Bin Laden appear more barbaric. This question is neither valid nor funny.

I would address all the things wrong with your post, but there are too many to list. I hope for your sake that you delete it before more people see it. I wish I'd never read this.

I don't read that lyric as a racial slur and am confused why anybody would read it that way. Not liking somebody's face isn't necessairly connected to their skin color, but probably more to the eyes.

That's the one line that I remembered best from that movie when I saw in the theaters. I think people are confusing themselves if they think that it means that all people of that nationality are like that. It's a funny statement about some fantastical ancient town.

Anyway, what they someone says in movie isn't meant to be taken as truth. Don't they call Indians savages in Pocahontas and have a little song about it? What is that okay but this isn't?

NOONE but YOU made the assumption that this had ANYTHING to do with making Osama Bin Laden more barbaric.

This has NOTHING to do with that at all.

It's just a concern about respecting the animation team's original intentions. And I'm pretty sure Osama Bin Laden was the least of their worries in 1993.
