I've had all my GC stuff since the launch and I've experienced no defects but PlanetGamecube has reported that a few gamers have noticed the B Button going soft but it not actually effecting the game play.

No problems yet, but now I'm scared  Does Nintendo have any kind of replacement policy on this?

Take it back to the store WITH receipt you purchased it from, and you'll get a new controller. Or you can E-mail them a message that your controller is not working with receipt and they'll send you a new controller. I live right next to their U.S. headquarters in Washington state, so I can just drive down there and get a new one if I want to, and I've never had any problems with them fixing or replacing things.

i just don't get it! i'm known for taking care of my game equip. like it's my first born child. it can't be me. why aren't the 3rd party controllers breaking? i have a g3, a cubicon, a black (came with system) and an indigo, the new one.

if the B button lost it's "oomph" (IE: Spring), try twisting the controller. Hold on to both ends of the controller, and twist each handle in the opposite direction (back and forth). Supposedly that's supposed to work, but I never tried it, as I've only had one problem w/ my B button (which I took back and got a new controller).
As for the rumble....I have 3 controllers and I haven't expierienced any of that. Then again, I only use one (the indigo one), and that controller came with the Japanese System my brother imported..

You may have just had a spot of bad luck. I'm pretty darn rough on my controllers (even as far as slinging them when I get totally whizzed off at whatever game I'm playing at the time) and have had no problems whatsoever. I own two first party controllers, and both play as well as they did the day I got them.

This is why you buy Sony
Not as bad as what my X-Box is doing, it scratches the Game discs ,in fact my Munch's Oddysee game was complety ruined. 50 bucks down the rat hole.

all right..I don't see how anything can scratch a game disc. The thing that reads them is a laser..it can't scratch it.
Maybe when you put it in the tray, it hits against the body of it or somthing...
I can't believe I just defended XBOX.. :o

I haven't had that problem with my X-Box.................
And the X-Box isn't as bad as it seems. When I first got it I thought it was a total waste of money..... and then I actually played it, not thinking about how much I "hated" it, and I loved it. Of course, I was playing Halo( :p ) but that's not the point(I think)...... :D

Halo doesn't count. I hate X-box. Halo is god.

Anyway, neither Gamecube, PS2 nor X-Box atract me, I'm still a fan of good old 2d gamming and thanks to the Gameboy Advance I can play my old SNES favorites anywhere(Super SFII and Super Mario World )

Alright then, but even though Halo doesn't count, X-Box is better than peope think it is........ most people start playing it, and even before they actually start they think they hate it, therfore, they automatically hate the games they're playing.
Besides, Dave Mirra Pro BMX 2 is kinda fun(IMO).
AND, as soon as they get more games out, it will get better.

Nintendo has an EXCELLENT policy for broken items. I'll be honest with you. I've screwed Nintendo a few times due to this...
I've gotten all 150 Pokemon pre packaged in the game cart when I called Nintendo and told them my Pokemon Red Game Disc wouldn't work, even though it worked perfectly fine. A few weeks later i got a new game and i was suposed to send back the defective game so I did with a self made tear in the evelope so they would think the game fell out.
I've done this like 3 times..I got pokemon Red, Mario Kart 64 and Pokemon Crystal... One of the times the cart was actually broken.. I don't or would never do it again, because it's moraly wrong and I was young..
But that just goes to show how much The Big N Cares... Call the number on the back of the box, they'll either refer you to a local shop that will fix it for free or they'll send you a new one...
I busted my Game Boy and they had it fixed for free..

That didn't strike me as funny...... and that's hard to do..... anyway, we're getting off topic, so I'm just going to stop trying to defend the X-box here.... what you think is your own business, and I'm not going to try and mess with anybody's opinion. :)

There ya go! I won't try to change your opinion either. Besides, anyone with monty-python quotes is ok by me.

Heh that was funny... My guess is Kiddie was just unlucky and one call to Nintendo will remedy all her gripes.. Just check my last post before this one.

Please people we are talking about GameCube problems, which I want to know about so I can prepare myself for them if they happen to me. If you want to discuss the virtures or lack of them for the X-Box please start a new thread. The first comment about an X-Box problem was off-topic, but okay because it still mostly fit with the content, but this has degenerated very quickly. If some GC owners have had a few problems I want to hear about it, but I won't if this thread is shut down for not staying on topic.
Thank you :)
