I found a thread at the YL boards about the cartoon "Lumberjack Rabbit". Read what one of the members wrote! Click here. (http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/show_boards/show_GetMessage.php?ID=707387&show_ID=SA1361) Now, doesn't that tick you off?!

If you are referring to Redd Black's message about the opening, then I am in complete agreement. I usually don't condone WB changing anything about its cartoons, but I would welcome a "normal opening" version of "Lumber Jack-Rabbit" (with the regular Looney Tunes opening sound) to keep future generations from getting fraidy scared of every other WB cartoon.

If ya mean the Redd Black dude, yeah i read that. (I always thought they might do a BLUE RIBBON with a norma 1953 (the year it went into rpdocut) Looney Tunes theme then segue into the Technicolor 3-D triangle BUGS BUNNY variant graphic...geesh

I don't think it should be altered in any way. If someone is scared of it, that's their personal issue, and it shouldn't have an effect on anyone else.

I was seven the first time I saw "Lumber Jack Rabbit" and the opening is a little unnerving the first time you see it, but I never wanted the thing banned, and it was certainly a lot of fun to watch in 3-D at the revival in Greenwich Village 14 years later (and there are scenes in some of the Fleischer/Famous cartoons I had a lot more trouble with, but I don't want those banned, either).

The Turner people and Warners have already removed several of the WB opening/closing credit oddities over the years with their new dubbed/colorized prints. No reason to eliminate another one because "The Attack of the WB Shield" causes one or two nightmares.

Other than the recked ending to "The Old Grey Hare," what has been changed?

The folks in charge of "June Bugs" thought it was really cool, and since they work for A-Oh-Swell and this other guy doesn't, guess who wins...:o

A couple of audio oddities by Stalling -- the end theme music from "The Cat's Tail" was replaced with the standard WB closing music on the dubbed version and the unique LT end theme music from "Porky and Daffy" was replaced with the standard 1939-40 ending music and "That's all, Folks" tag line on the computer colorized version.

For the record, "Marvin the Martian in the 3rd Dimension" can be seen at Warner Bros. Movie World in Dusseldorf, Germany. If you're ever out that way, I highly recommend you go to the park!

I just want to make a comment that it's natural for people to be afraid of things as a kid. Heck, I used to be afraid of "Animal" from the "Muppets." But they should not ban this cartoon because of that. Everybody has to grow up sometime.

Yeah, they shouldn't just edit it, because people are scared of it. Heck, I used to be scared of those mop martians on Sesame Street...REALLY!!!

I was afraid of the scene with the Chinaman in "Gold Rush Daze" when I was a wee little lad. But, hey, you can't ban it just because I was a D.A. at age 5 for being afraid of it.

I can even remember when the Road Runner's "Beep-beep's" scared me.

As a little kid, I was scared by Mickey Mouse's Charles Lindbergh impression in PLANE CRAZY. The eyes squeezed shut and those huge, flat teeth as he grinned were frightening! (Er, when I was six.)

Actually, my above post was facetious and Dave Mackey and Redd Black are correct, (but it's the ONLY time, perhaps that I'd welcome editing..anyone care to remove the BEE DEVILED BRUIN and BEAR FEAT's Scenes where Pa terrifies Junyer  Didn't think so. :D )

Anyway, a typical BR opening, like the one used on PRINCE VIOLENT/PRINCE VARMINT, which w0ould be a BR reissue of a 1954 cartoon, would be approrpaite 91953 copyright date), and the original ending can stay (the That's all FOlks)
