UnRar X - how the heck do I use this thing?

Howdy folks,

I'm trying to open a .rar file on a mac, so I found and downloaded this program called UnrarX, but have no flipping idea how to activate the program.

There's the rar folder with the following things in it:

default.sfx
license.txt
order.htm
rar
rar.txt
rarfiles.lst
readme.txt
technote.txt
unrar
whatsnew.txt.


I've tried the rar and unrar, but all they do once clicked upon is open up these boxes of compu-talk that describe that it seems to be installed. But there's no icon on my screen or nuthin'. Help??

Have you actually installed the program yet?

Unzip the downloaded UnRarX file and then drag the icon to your Applications folder.

Once you do that, launch the UnRarX application and drag your rar archive into the main window.


If a mod is reading this, maybe a move to the "Computer Issues" topic in the Cafe is in order.
