Since I didn't watch the series when it ran and iTunes doesn't list TNBA as a show, just like 100+ B:TAS eps, I have no clue where B:TAS ends and TNBA begins. I guess it's when the animation drastically changed to DCAU style. Can anybody help me out? Also which animation do you like better? I'm torn, the heroes and the backgrounds look better in the TNBA style, but just the Joker alone makes it look kinda bad.

I believe there's 109 episodes total so that means BTAS ends at 85 and the next 24 are TNBA. From an animation perspective, TNBA is usually more consistent and fluid so as a whole is better animated. But some of the better animated BTAS episodes( anything by TMS, Spectrum, Dong Yang ) were really great to look at as the animation matched the wonderful backgrounds, which looked better there than in TNBA.

Check wikipedia's or worlds finest guides. Both should have distinct guides for btas and tnba.

If you're buying it on iTunes TNBA starts here (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=283990114&s=143441).

Also, you will note that Baby Doll, the Scarecrow and Killer Croc for example are virtually NEW characters on TNBA - in their cases, they didn't just undergo physical makeovers like the Joker, but also vocal makeovers and personality makeovers.
Barbara Gordon/Batgirl underwent a more significant (as one of the main characters) vocal and personality makeover on TNBA - the B:TAS Barbara/Batgirl was a no-nonsense tomboy, but the TNBA Batgirl/Barbara was a cutesy Tinkerbell-wannabe.
I for one see TNBA as taking place in a parallel universe to B:TAS at best. With the acknowledgement of the multiverse on JUSTICE LEAGUE, it makes perfect sense.

I think they made all the changes when they realized that they wanted to make a DCAU. S:TAS always had that style but TNBA didn't and they changed it to S:TAS's animation style. I guess, thankfully they did because then on JL/U Batman looked really cool.

Sort of, WB had gotten the rights back for BTAS and wanted to pair it up with STAS but also wanted to add a little something more. So they commissioned more Batman episodes and then the crew decided that they would change the style up to match up with STAS better. Man if they didn't that would've been a really weird and terrible sight:sweat:
