what was with the "dream" thing after being shot the first time. You see him in a lab coat and being doused with electrically charged chemicals like he was studying something. It mad me think that they were trying to combine Barry Allen's character with Wally's. If they had shown him as a kid in a coat I wouldn't be making this thread. ;)

You are right. They were combining Barry's with Wally's origins. Same way they merged Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner in S:TAS.

Yeah, Yeah: the same way they mixed Tim Drake's origin w/ Jason Todd's. Get over it people!!! The less you expect the animated continuity to follow the DCU continuity, the better off you'll be.

Although the pains and migraines don't set in until after watching a scene with a spliced origin, those of us who are unfamiliar with the comic world are still really friggin confused when they do this. Why do you think they do it? I don't see any outcome of it besides confusion. In fact I'm still scratching my head about the Flash thing. :p

I don't really like it. The JL Flash doesn't act like an intelligent scientist, at all. His idiot, smart butt attitude just doesn’t fit that origin. Doesn't really add up. Maybe well get more about it in season 2.

Excatly Barry wasn't a smat butt like the JL Flash. He planed things in advanced. Sure they do tend to splice origins together, but at least combine personalities. Show the Flash at least showing some signs of a scientific knowledge

Maybe they think that by combining two characters that they'll appease more fans? or maybe they're just on crack, whatever floats your boat. I'd think that, maybe because they know they wont have a certain character in the show, or ever mentioned, that they'll take some of that character's traits and put them in one of the main character. For what reason I haven't a clue. Flash's smart arse attitude was cute and familiar at first, but they do seem to be overdoing it a bit. I wish they'd ease up on it a bit. Though, when he was fighting Grod, and mentioned later that he crossed wires in the helmet, it was finally a glimpse that he's really not as stupid as he looks.

uhm has anyone given ANY thought to the fact that the lightning strike probably altered Wally's personality?

if you recall, Barry often tried not to blur the lines between himself and his alter ego (he wouldnt use super speed to paint the house, do chores, get home on time ;) etc)

maybe wally is just the same way

Hey! Scientists can be fun! :p

Anyway, Wally showed a bit of technical knowledge in B&B when he rewired Grodd's helmet. There hasn't been an instance where the scientific method was required by the Flash to solve a problem, so we can't stereotype him based on his personality charactaristics. Hell, I'm a smartass and I also respect the scientific method, so its not like its not possible.

EDIT: I just don't act like a smartass here because people are liable to get offended here more than in real life.
