I was just thinking. It was many years ago after the Iron Man match-up with HBK and The Hitman that Bret just vanished.

Bret left because he didn't like how things were going with his character. He didn't like the direction he was going. The big difference, Bret lost the world title where as...

This year's Wrestlemania Steve Austin defeats Scott Hall. Steve Austin decides he doesn't like how his character is being treated. He doesn't like the direction his character is going.

What remains to be seen is: Will Austin be back for RAW or will he continue to be MIA?

As much as people talk about Hall and Nash's ego, or Hogan's, what can be said about Austin? He refused a run-in that would have explained the split. He decided to go home and pout after WINNING at Wrestlemania. I guess he can't handle the fact people aren't watching RAW because Stone Cold said so.

well..austin has had an ego problem no doubt..he's caused problems in the past because of his refusing to job or work with certain people..he's let alot of his fame go to his head...i'm not trying to defend him all that much, but i can kind of understand his frustration...basically much like hhh he worked a really long time to build himself up to the superstar status he's at now..but unlike hhh he was knocked down a peg when hulk hogan came back in the scene out of nowhere stealing everybody's thunder...austin's role wasn't exactly diminshed when the nwo first hit the scene.in fact not since sting has anyone squashed the nwo's heat so badly as austin did..they didn't initially bury him, but once wrestlemania hit, not only did hogan get top billing over austin, but once hogan turned face again, people barely even noticed austin wasn't even around on raw... i guess i can't really blame austin all that much for feeling left outin this big new equation. it's kinda easy to call him an ego maniac, but if i were in his shoes i'd probably feel the same way right now. i might've reacted a bit differently than he did though...
