Does AnyOne Think They Should Make A New Alvin And The ChipMunks Cartoon Series

:confused:Who do you mean by "they"? Ruby-Spears Productions, Ross Bagdasarian Productions or 20th Century Fox, who produced the live-action/CGI movies?

Which brings me to what (IMO) would be the more pertinent questions: If there were to be a new Alvin series, which continuity would it follow? That of the recent movies, or the previous animated series? And if it were the former, would said series be hand-drawn or rendered in CG? (It more than likely wouldn't combine CG with live action like the movies did, as that would be expensive to do on a weekly basis.)

Whether or not anyone "should" make a new series is somewhat irrelevant, since entertainment is typically not considered a necessity in the grand scheme of things. If some studio or network were to launch a new Chipmunks series, it would most likely be to cash in on the success of the recent movies.

Yeah only if they bring back Clyde. Bring back Clyde and Leonardo and see Clyde for the latest technology.

Also release the Alvin Show on DVD, the full series.

If they do, it should be an all new version (or go back to one of the previous animated continuities) and not based on the movies.

I think it would be more beneficial if the Chipmunks on TV were left in the past, since I don't see the Chipmunks doing rap or a lot of the newer music very well, so they wouldn't really be able to "stand apart" from the crowd of newer artists. And I'm not too sure how many kids would tune in to see a series where the majority of the music was either from or based on music from the 60's to 80's. Even in the first movie (I haven't seen the Sqeaquel yet---waiting for the Blu-ray to be released) I found that a number of the songs were based on the older songs, but just reorchestrated and produced to a slightly different beat that was more from today, but still contained the beat from the 60's and 80's.

As for the DVD's of the past shows, I've only picked up a few because they are "Best of" releases (Alvin's Christmas Special, Star Wreck's). I would love to see both the original show from the 60's and the 80's show released in season sets (doesn't matter whether they were complete seasons or if Paramount went "Season 1 Volume 1", "Season 1 Volume 2", since I realize that some cartoons can have first seasons that are 65 episodes long).

Why not, but at the same time, it will depend on which animation studio will be responsible for production. Personally, I think the show could carry three shorts for each half-hour program, namely with Alvin, Simon & Theodore with Dave Seville, the Chipettes & Clyde Crashcup and Leonardo. It's certainly something to think about.

In animated form, not that CGI stuff from those crappy movies. I'd love to see more, I used to enjoy there adventures and loved that film, that one of them going around the world, forgot the name.

The Chipmunk Adventure (1987) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092752/).

This would sure bring me back as a fan. Think about it we live in such a technology world now that it would great to see the crazy adventures that Clyde and Leonardo could do.

Only, and I mean only, if they don't use the recent CGI models.

I'd like to see Alvin come back too, but in regular hand-drawn animation, not CGI. (Save that for the next Alvin "squeakquel"!)

And stick to the original character designs from the 80's show.
