My copy of the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths soundtrack from Amazon finally came in today and I thought it was a really great score! I think they're getting better and better with these and the composers are definitely learning how to work past the budget limitations they have to make great scores. I really liked the "main titles" track, it's such a great theme. It's a really great effort and definitely has a JL/JLU vibe every once and awhile. The score sounds epic but not as epic as the Wonder Woman score. I think Drake and Venable did a really good job here. Did anyone else get this?

I've listened to this CD twice now -- and it is very good. The scale is indeed epic, and the music does punctuate the action and the drama, as a good score music should.

However, I've found that I have been spoiled by the wonderful work of the Dynamic Music Partners on the later seasons of Justice League series -- whereupon most (if not all) characters had their own distinctive theme that melded into the melody for maximum effect. And yes, I know the CO2E feature is supposed to distance itself from the JL/JLU, but with the knowledge that this story is essentially the untold "Worlds Collide" story with minor tweaks, I cannot help but visualize this as a DCAU JL adventure as I was watching it -- and I cannot help but wonder what the score would have been like if this had become a DCAU DTV and DMP worked their magic on it.

I realize that I may be making an unfair comparison. However, many DCU features, notably New Frontier, Doomsday, and Green Lantern, had employed character themes for good effect. In CO2E, the notable themes seem to highlight the action or the scene, or reflect the main titles, which is all well and fine. Again, I do enjoy this CO2E music and will definitely include it on my "soundtrack playlist." But I guess I can also see how this music can be... more.

Maybe iTunes doesn't have it yet?

I ordered my soundtrack off Amazon because I wanted it on CD. I did send an email to the iTunes support to ask about getting the soundtrack on iTunes Canada though. I know Amazon.com has the MP3s too. iTunes Canada does have the Wonder Woman DTV score though.
