i've gotta go with B:GA because it's been fun to read, i just finished #40 and it was one of the best ones they've done in a while. a close second would be batman adventures, mainly due to the awesome artwork...

I'd pick Batman Adventures, with Batman & Robin Adventures and Superman Adventures tied for 2nd. *Which reminds me. I should be writing those reviews...*

Definitely Gotham Adventures.

Gotham Adventures is a prime example of how these books can work when the right team is behind them. Batman Beyond is the opposite of that.

BATMAN ADVENTURES is by far the best. The writing was creative and the stories were more deeper than what it read the first time (ex: BATMAN ADVENTURES #22). GOTHAM ADVENTURES is good, but not great. The stories are becoming a bit too symplistic and forumulaic, and usually depends on easy answers to resolve the story. The art on GA is good, but Levin's Batman still just isn't right. He's got just about the rest of the characters down except him. BATMAN BEYOND is just an excuse to churn out 22 pages based on a cartoon every month without no pre-conception put into it aside from the very rare good story. SUPERMAN ADVENTURES starte dout as gold and lasted as much until issue #41. When Milar left, some of the quality went with ut. Some of the stories since them has been great, and ALmancio's art remains stunning. You all know my thoughts on Vokes :). BATMAN & ROBIN ADVENTURES was a good follow-up and lead in. I thought it struck the eprfect balance and when you re-read it, it's almost like they planned it that way.

BATMAN ADVENTURES, with Pucket's stellar writing and Parobecks amazing art, remains the top of the heep. WHile BATMAN BEYOND isn't even fit to line a bat-cage with.

"Batman Adventures" because it was the first title to prove that cartoon-based comics don't have to be cheap junk. It broke new ground by using quality writers and artists instead of bored editors and leftover hacks. Marvel never did get the hint for their cartoon-comics, although they are finally trying to cover this area with their "ultimate" line.

I agree with you. BGA is just getting annoying. Peterson seems to consider readers as morons and his stories are either stunningly naive or just way too simplistic. SA has gotten barely decent recently. And no need to spend more time on BB.

(it may not be perfect but it's close.)

It occured to me when I was reading B:GA #37 that the comic was really going down hill. It was Perchance To Dream in comic form and wasn't even as good. # 38 was worse and # 39 ended so quickly. I am hoping that the return of Mr. Freeze will bring B:GA out of its slump.:)

"I am hoping that the return of Mr. Freeze will bring B:GA out of its slump."
That and the coming return of Two-Face are the only reasons I'm still picking this book up after the travesties that were #37-39

The more I read the B:GA stories, the more I dislike them. When I review them for this site, they usually get around 6 or 7, rarely one over 8. The more I re-read them, the more I think I should re-review them. The recent Clayface episode is a good example of an issue that does read good twice. While this has nothing to do with Levins, it's the boring stories from (an ex-editor) Scott Peterson. What I wouldn't give to have Puckett or Templeton back.

BTW, Marvel will be releasing a comic based on X-MEN: EVOLUTION and 2002's SPIDER-MAN: THE CGI ANIMATED SERIES. Word has it they may actually have good talent on them! (shock!)

Marvel's animated comics never last long, do they?

Hmmm...X-MEN ADVENTURES lasted about 40 issues (combining it's 3 volumes). SPIDER-MAN ADVENTURES lasted 15. AVENGERS: UNITED THEY STAND lasted 7. SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED lasted 5. MARVEL ADVENTURES lasted 6 issues. So...no, not really. Then again, the vast majority of the issues were just adapted episodes.

So will the new ones have new material?
